Discussion: First Photo Ever Taken From The Surface Of A Comet

Dave, another very useful thing that pond scum can be used for: Bio-fuel. Algae have been used to make diesel of all things. I’m not aware of any useful product that can be made from Inhofe so far.

On the one hand this is totes exciting, on the other hand it makes me sad. Growing up I had a cat named Sputnik; the whole world was excited about America’s determination to put a man on the moon. And we did it!
Now, the EU does it.

Dogfood? Naw he’d even make a dog wretch. Ummm, maybe he could be used for media for culturing ebola virus, you know to sort of help a little in the search for a vaccine. Uh unh… not even a virulent virus like ebola could grow in a media so lacking in substance. There has to be some use for the old bastard. I know, we can make him the designated whipping boy for every missed scientific research opportunity during his tenure as chair of the Environmental committee, the general clusterfuck that the Repug caucus is bound to be, and for whatever general sins the Repugs commit against humanity. What do you think, would he maybe be useful for that. As things evolve, we’ll have to be relentless in holding him to account. It’s a big responsibility and a tough job shaming the shameless, but working together I feel confident it could be done. In a very gentlemanly proper manner of course considering his wholly unmerited elevation to a seat of power.

This is so cool, proof that we (humanity) can do great things if we decide to do so.

Mankind did this and there isn’t a thing the Christian Wrong can say that makes it less impressive or important in the eyes of the world or the Creator.

(this was a reply to Darrtown, not Commonsense, which somehow ended up the wrong place):

Please, Newton is the unit of force ( Force = Mass x Acceleration ): 1 N = 1 kg x 1 m/s^2 (btw, the N is capital since it is derived from a name, as Hz (Hertz ), K (Kelvin) og G (Gauss) is, too).

Actually, I have come to the conclusion that the President should decide what he wants to accomplish…then come out against it. Then wait for the teabaggers to rage against him…pass legislation…and…Voila…done!

Yeah but it is so science and with teabaggers we as a country are not into sciencey stuff.

The feat is impressive. Too bad we can’t apply technology to get cops from shooting unarmed black guys…or give Louie Gohmert half a brain…or any republican for that matter.

Once you remove the politics from issues, it’s amazing what can be accomplished.
