Yes, and not only for how he handled the riots, but for all of the selective leaking, that remember this police chief was only too happy to start leaking immediately after the shooting.
The illegal leaks that have recently come from the Grand Jury proceedings came from one of three places, either the Prosecuting Attorney’s office, the police chief, or Wilson’s own attorney, who has no more right to know what is going on in the Grand Jury than you or I do, so if it was him, then he had those leaks given to him by one of the other two sources. These stupid people seem oblivious to the fact that the DOJ is watching every dumb thing they do.
DOJ is also investigating whether the Ferguson PD engaged in a pattern of civil-rights violations in its day-to-day policing. That would mainly involve looking back before the shooting–the prequel, if you will.

True, that would be a routine part of such an investigation. But the shooting itself has nothing to do with the police chief resigning. If Brown is not indicted, or if he were indicted and found not guilty, he still should resign. The implication of the initial comment was because he was resigning because he knows Wilson is being indicted, which is just false. No one at this point knows that.
Don’t be too sure. He has a boss too, and if told to resign, he will have to resign. He won’t lose his union benefits, but he certainly is not going to be offered any kind of a “parachute” on top of that. He’s a public employee.
And a Senator from Louisiana gets reamed for saying that the Southern States haven’t always been hospitable to Blacks. I think this guy makes her point rather obvious.
I’ve seen kids be totally opposite than parents politically, so not really a fair statement. I don’t know if he has kids, but he might have kids that are fine.
