Discussion: Few Signs Of GOP Votes Against Trump's Emergency Declaration On Sunday Shows

The GOPers in the Senate are all sellouts! They hate Democracy and America too!

They are still afraid of Trump and so will get in line. When Trump breaks, cracks, and flounders due to Mueller or something similar, these “brave” Republicans will abandon him immediately. Bet on it. Nobody wants to be the last rat on SS †Я☭mp.

“I won’t vote to try to block it,” Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL), a frequent cable news presence, told CBS “Face the Nation” host Margeret Brennan on Sunday.

“Look, I wish this would have happened a different way,” Kinzinger continued, before noting that he’d voted for immigration reform legislation in the past.

Brennan interjected: “But you think this is constitutional for the President to bypass the power of the purse strings of Congress?”

“I do,” Kinzinger said, saying that the “the amount of drugs coming over the border, and the human trafficking” constitutes a national emergency.

They know what’ll happen if they defy their constituents’ wishes. Heidi Heitkamp former Democratic senator ND probably knew it too, but she voted against Kav anyway, and she was not re-elected. Spineless Rs want no part of that.

It occurred to me the other day, while I was doing the vacuuming, don’t all these Republican assholes live in gated communities? What’s wrong with all walls they’ve already built? are they not functioning properly? If they’re not competent enough to get the walls around they’re private enclaves right and feel safe, what makes them think they can build functional walls in a butterfly refuge?

Then I did some laundry and thought about Middle East Peace through nuclear arms sales…

I tend to agree with you. There are right now several Rs going soft, Collins, Gardner, Tillis, ahead of the 2020 elections and when Mueller’s case against trumpp is made public, we may see more defections. But I don’t think we’ll see McConnell, and Graham ever defect. The folks back home will never give up on trumpp.

As usual, all profile, no courage. How shocking.

Brooks wrote a column the other day declaring he thought Senator Harris could beat trumpp and good. Could have knocked me over with a feather.

Trump over the Constitution is the goal of these unpatriotic scum. They don’t care about their jobs, their roles, or anything — just pleasing Don the Con.

What a liar. He knows this isn’t an imminent threat, and a wall won’t matter. The GOP hate the Constitution. No other conclusion can be made.

Yeah…I said that, to be sure, about Roberts…

…Which is like saying, “We got a 40-mile-wide asteroid hurtling toward Earth. If the four primary sequential backup systems NASA devices to save our Planet go to shit we’ve got a Hail Mary ICBM launched from an aircraft carrier.”

**If the fate of our system of Government has to come down to Roberts, Alito, Thomas and two stolen SCOTUS seats, we will already have lost

A SCOTUS that corrupted should not be let anywhere NEAR the task of saving Democracy in the United States of America

That’s why I said “Roberts AND Mueller”. The GOP is scared of the Base. Only Mueller can put a bigger scare on GOP Senators. @irasdad and a few others have always been consistent at pointing this out. But it is rare. To see what is in on the MSM, GOP Senators have only the Base to fear, not anything to do with the Special Counsel.

Why is that??

Yes, and then the blue wave will drown them.

I like the way David Brooks puts it: these GOP reps have a learned helplessness against Donald Trump. I don’t expect anything of them now.
