I’ve started wearing hearing protection and suggest you do likewise.

IMHO Excusing companies and their executives’ criminal conduct via non-prosecution agreements is a form of prosecutorial misconduct.

Salon and Hill Reporter are the only ones with this news item?

And this, which I think is on what the Hill based its story.

The government has alleged that U.S. Person 1 “worked with Butina to arrange introductions to U.S. persons having influence in American politics,” including high-ranking members of the National Rifle Association and organizers of the National Prayer Breakfast, that would ultimately give her a surprising level of access to conservative politicians, including — in one memorable interaction captured on video — to then-candidate Donald Trump.

This Hill Reporter story seems pretty thinly sourced if that’s all they had to go off of.

The ABC story?

"AMI’s acceptance of responsibility, its substantial and important assistance in this investigation, and its agreement to provide cooperation in the future "

Cue George Takei

Yes. And the SDNY US Atty gets “all information” they ask from AMI, which can be used “for any purpose” for three years. From the AMI non-prosecution agreement:

Pecker dysfunction, but there’s help for that now.

Oh he is still going to fight that because that would open even a bigger can of worms.

OK… they have given AMI a pass… But, is it significant that they just agreed to protect the corporation? I would think that if they were going to protect all involved that they would phrase it as “… agreed not to prosecute AMI and its directors, officers and employees …”.

Certainly looks like Pecker just threw Trump under the bus, as in a felony campaign finance violation. When you can’t trust the National Enquirer…

There really is nothing sacred to these hypocrites, is there? I’m just waiting to hear about some Resurrection-related scam they’ve come up with.

This is why I was confused this morning when Salon and Hill Reporter both headline that Erickson (Butina’s BF) “admits” to a Russia back channel. In other words, both headlines implied that Erickson confessed to the Feds, which is new.

However, the story was originally from Monday Dec 10, by ABC and others stating that the Feds had Erickson in their sights, including an Erickson email professing his Russian back channel.

Thanks for clearing that up.
