instead of offering $5000 reward you’d think they’d offer free guns…
Except when it isn’t.
So, how secure are gun ranges like this?
“The federal agency and the National Shooting Sports Foundation trade group are offering a total reward of $5,000 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of whoever is responsible.”
It’s the “well-regulated militia.” Where do I claim my $5,000.00?
So much for gun safety at the gun range can’t even properly lockup firearms.
I also wonder. I remember reading not long after 9/11 about the Al Queda handbook. In it there was a recommendation that members go to gun shows in the U.S. to purchase firearms because of the lack of background checks. I would guess this also applies to gun ranges. You have to wonder what kind of security they have.
This is the second (2nd) burglary that has taken place at this specific gun range. I think they should be ordered to shutdown while the investigation is being conducted. But of course that will never happened with Gov Deal being the governor of Georgia…he touts about his Grade A rating from NRA. Something is wrong with this picture and for all the public knows, this could be an inside job to increase their revenue by furnishing the black market too. That is all the more reason this establishment should be shutdown until the investigation is completed. And I think they should face a fine for having frequent occurrences like this…2 incidents within in 30 days is very unusual. Its way beyond the reach of being “reasonable”.
My thoughts exactly. If they could find a way to sell these untraceable guns (for waaay more than $5K I promise), hit the insurance company AND collect the reward, they would. As it stands, they’ll probably have to settle for 2 out of three.
the crime happened during the early morning hours of May 18 at the American Heritage Gun Range and Training Center.
Whaaaaat? Where were the good guys with all those gunses?
No surveillance cameras? Alarm? Cookies and milk for Santa?
Chances are they could end up in others states
Yes, they are being transported in several directions by now. You’ve got to also take into account the timing and the number of robberies (2 times within a 30 day period), at this specific establishment . Clearly something is being planned and the question is WHO. More importantly, how much vigor will be used in finding these stolen weapons.
I reside in NYC where the authorities at least make a effort to go after weapons trafficking. A few years ago under Bloomberg and Commissioner Kelly a few Georgian gun dealers expressed displeasure with them conducting investigations.
So where was the good guy with a gun in this equation?
66 firearms have been stolen from a gun range outside Atlanta…the theft was the second from the business in the past 30 days
If something something, only criminals will have guns.
True story, a few years ago a banker I know received a call from the FBI in the middle of the night. Police had discovered that someone had broken into his bank, dropping in through a hole they created the bank’s ceiling. When he arrived at the bank he confirmed that the thieves hadn’t been able to open his safe, in fact they hadn’t even tried to open his safe, instead they had opened a hole in the wall separating the bank from the gun store next door. They cleaned out the gun store.
The FBI agent in charge told him that the thieves’ target must have been the gun store. The banker didn’t know whether to be relieved or embarrassed. .
