'twould be even better if Twitter’s disabling of the blocking function resulted in the icon be grayed-out rather than removed, so that he is reminded of it every time he tries to tweet.

As a former treatment provider, I’m glad I’m retired.

I like to think I was pretty good at what I did, but I suspect his behavior is well beyond my capabilities for effective remediation.

So, how is this enforced? Can the president be held in contempt of court when he keeps blocking people or doesn’t unlbock those already blocked? He certainly is contemptible enough…

Implicit in the opinion, particularly the extensive discussion rejecting Trump’s contention that courts can’t enjoin the president because he’s the king and supreme leader after saying there was no need to go there, is that the court will issue an injunction or grant a writ of mandamus (which would come out to the same thing on these facts) if they persist in resisting. And they will resist.

This news doesn’t make up for what the NFL did today, but at least it made me happier.

I can’t believe Goodell made this statement (NYT):

“It was unfortunate that on-field protests created a false perception among many that thousands of N.F.L. players were unpatriotic,” Goodell said in a statement. “This is not and was never the case.”

But the players are still being forced to stand or stay off the field when the anthem plays. Respect for the flag, the anthem? How about respect for every American, regardless of color, and equal treatment under the law.

Damn the league, team owners, “fans” and their faux patriotism.

I attend my fair share of professional sporting events. The goddamned things have become a hybrid of Fourth of July honor guard displays, Army recruiting extravaganzas and nationalisitic orgies demanding respect for histrionic red meat war songs.*
