What part of the activities of the Office of Government Ethics should be private? Seems to me that’s work that should always be done in the sunlight.

I think the editorializing here is both inapt and inappropriate. It’s inapt because the standard for “bizarre” in tweeting has been set by the guy Shaub was trolling and these weren’t even in the ballpark. If his tweets were “bizarre,” then all of Liz Warren’t tweets trolling Trump were “bizarre.”
OGE was answering Trump in Trump’s medium. Perfectly appropriate.
Chaffetz doesn’t want to go on a “fishing expedition” because he doesn’t have the information to do so. Trump has only released summaries of his business interests precisely to avoid any oversight.
Yup, roaches like Chaffetz thrive in the dark, hate the light.
For future reference, I learned first-hand that comparisons to roaches are frowned on here. Unfair to the roaches.

So how long until Walter Shaub’s salary gets cut to $1? Or until every employee at the OGE is being paid by a GoFundMe?
This guy is a hero. I only hope that every Democrat that gets near a microphone backs him up and uses the phrase “Republican war on ethics” at every opportunity. We might not be able to stop them from inflicting harm on this country, but we can make them do it in the sunlight and force them to own it.
I would characterize the tweets as “sharply ironic.”

I disagree with the categorization of the tweets as 'bizzare". They were appropriate. Trump is the one with bizzare twwets.

I want to say something cute like “Shaub 2020” but honestly that would probably ruin the guy. He seems perfect for what he’s already doing. Keep on keeping on, Mr. Shaub.
