Discussion: Federal Court Finds Discriminatory Intent In Texas Voter ID Case

Job #1 when we take over Congress is to establish a Constitutional right to vote for every American citizen, with the burden placed on the government to prove ineligibility.

We rule.

I think that Kennedy may be not-a-complete-tool enough to see what’s happened since Shelby and recognize the truth. I think even Roberts was surprised that the states would be quite that obvious about disenfranchising people; he’d been hoping they would do it quietly around the edges.

If the Republicans can’t win something straight up, they will attempt steal it every time.

Abbott, Patrick and our felonious Attorney General Paxton could care less.

Although in Paxton’s case, one of the arguments he’s raised against the case against him is the “onerous cost” to the taxpayers in his home county…

This will be the least surprising thing anyone reads today.

Hope you’re right; fear you’re not.

True enough (that’s why I said “for the most part”).

The Fifth Circuit dug deep on this one! Sine Gursuch is now on the bench, Texas will appeal on some bs grounds just to get the case up to SCOTUS, in hopes that Gorsuch will provide Texas (and by extension conservative Whites) with the victory.

How telling is this that the GOP again has to rely on artificial barriers to keep power in Texas?
