"Keep calm and tackle hard.”
Also, speak softly and carry (Bobby) Three Sticks.
I am very worried. Historically, attacking the FBI has always been a winning strategy for presidents.
This kind of communication to employees being put out by the FBI Director due to REPUBLICAN actions. We live in interesting times.
It doesn’t look like Wray will be resigning any time soon.
It’ll be interesting to see how the Nunes b.s. is received among the general public. I remember reading that 25-30% stayed with Nixon even after he was shown to have committed obstruction of justice and resigned, you know, muttering about how the media “did him in.” The rest of the country moved on and accepted that their president had indeed been a crook. I wonder if the pro-Trumpers will remain in the Nixon-backer parameters, 25-30 percent, or whether Fox News has won more converts for the “media is after 45” worldview. Interesting times, in the Chinese sense.
Oh, the Trumpistas will never give up on him; it’s the Alan Keyes “27% rule.” Even if the candidate is demonstrably crazy, about 27% of the voters will always back him/her. Fox News is just preaching to the choir, as usual. I expect most Americans will be a lot more interested in the Super Bowl than in the contents of this attempted hatchet job. Nunes is a worm, doing his boss’ bidding. He forgot (or never learned) that he is paid to represent his constituents, not the president*.
There are ALWAYS 25-30% of Americans who will support anything that any Republican does. It’s been that way for decades and decades.
Some have compared Nunes’s memo to Geraldo Rivera opening Al Capone’s vault. That’s totally unfair.
Geraldo didn’t know ahead of time that it would be empty.
A reminder.
1/3 of the Louisiana GOPers blame President Obama for the failed response to Katrina.
That third of the population is why there are warnings printed on dry-cleaning plastic bags about not give them to babies to play with—and also why we can’t have nice things.

FIFY
Man, I’m really getting worn out from all of this winning by Trump and the GOP, aren’t you?
I am going to play the game for a moment.
This sounds like a man who know where things are going.
There I did it.
And you know what, I agree with myself.
At its heart, the memo seems to allege as the bad acts that should destroy the Mueller investigation is that the FBI in seeking a FISA warrant did not disclose to the court the potential biases of Christopher Steele in writing the memo. Extraordinarily think gruel. But even that claim looks fraudulent. From Adam Schiff’s published response to the memo: “The Majority suggests that the FBI failed to alert the court as to Mr. Steele’s potential political motivations or the political motivations of those who hired him, but this is not accurate.” Schiff is taking seriously his obligation not to disclose information the DOJ provided without appropriately clearing it, but Schiff read the underlying materials. So what he is saying here is the FBI did alert the court to the potential political motivations. Schiff has therefore likely read information that shows this. If so, what possible basis could there be to claim wrongdoing by the FBI here? Note as well that Steele was paid not by the DNC, but by Fusion GPS. And Glenn Simpson of Fusion GPS testified to Congress that Steele did not know by whom he was ultimately being paid.
I detect a slight air of combativeness in the Director’s comments.
.
Trump is such a fucking moron. I bet Stephen Miller and Not-Racist-At-All General John Kelly and all the rest of the drooling baboon sycophants around him convinced Trump that this memo would lead to a firestorm among the American public and the media that would result in the Mueller probe being ended by the time Trump got out of bed at 11 AM on Monday morning.
Well, except for Hope Hicks. She was dressed in pigtails and a Catholic schoolgirl’s uniform sitting on Donald’s lap the whole time.
Well, it’s about fucking time Sarah Huckabee Sanders wore something fashionable!
Some people in the media are flipping and spinning on their head backward trying to make sense of this gaslighting. It is actually very simple. Nobody act this fucking guilty – unless they’re guilty.
OT but apparently Nunes is on Fox spewing.
