Donald Trump’s reaction to this is pretty weird. There was an illegal break-in to the Democratic Headquarters’ communications systems, and those private messages were illegally released to the public.
The self-proclaimed Law and Order Candidate is responding with glee over this crime, and cheering it on.
This wasn’t a 3rd rate burglary like Watergate, Trump brought in some undocumented Russians to do a first rate job on this one. Interesting to know what other DNC information they harvested that they are not making public, yet.
Democratic Party officials learned in late April that
their systems had been attacked after they discovered
malicious software on their computers. A cybersecurity
firm they employed found traces of at least two
sophisticated hacking groups on the Democrats' network —
both of which have ties to the Russian government.
I think it is telling that there was not any trace of a hack on the RNC —
Hmmmm …
If they released these with easily deleted metadata on the e-mails, it was third rate.
And I don’t believe Trump had anything to do with it other than to jump up and down and clap his hands like a gleeful kindergartner getting pudding with lunch.
OK … but what about Manafart ? —
Interestingly enough, Andrea Mitchell (I’m no fan) was trying to ask this exact question of Reince Priebus just now. There was noise in the background and Reince was claiming first not to understand the question and then not to be able to hear her. What was surprising is that Andrea didn’t really seem to believe him and vowed that she will get back to him to get an answer.
I don’t believe the Trump campaign had anything to do with it.
Have you seen any indication of organizational competence from them?
Just a couple of tid-bits from the other thread …

We seemed to snicker and say “never heard of him” when we heard that Paul Manafort was hired to run the trumperation. But in fact his fingerprints are all over this thing, and now it’s clear why he was brought on. WaPo had extensive coverage early on on the trump-Manafort-Putin connection.
The story has another level of intrigue involving Mr. Manafort, Mr. Trump’s campaign chairman. Working through his lobbying firm, Mr. Manafort was one of several American advisers to Viktor F. Yanukovych, the Russian-backed leader of Ukraine until he was forced out of office two years ago. Mr. Yanukovych was a key Putin ally who is now in exile in Russia.
In April, asked on Fox News about his relationship with Mr. Yanukovych, Mr. Manafort said he was simply trying to help the Ukrainians build a democracy that could align more closely with the United States and its allies.

We’ll see if they (FBI) are led towards anything … interesting ----
Maybe she will get another interview … after November ? ?
Believe it or not, she got Reince back on to answer the question. He first tried to again say he couldn’t hear her, but then did answer. He basically said, “No, the RNC wasn’t hacked by the Russians” and then tried to change the topic to how great the GOP convention was because the hall was clean, traffic was flowing, etc. (He LITERALLY said that.)
will Trey Gowdy and Darrell Issa have enough time to start a Special Committee investigation on why Hillary hacked the DNC email and then tried to put the blame on the Ruskies when they return from vacation?
I don’t think things are going to remain “clean” … for long —
I am still worried that there will be more leaks from those emails and that the media will allow this to dominate the coverage of this convention.
Chill Marb …
When the quality messg. of the speakers begins … the future will take care of itself —
Nothing is going to change the FACT that the HRC ticket is the ONLY (and best ) hope for our country at present ----
Okay - I will try to return to the mindset I had after the rollout of our VP pick.
Edited: I may still need you and others to talk me down from the ledge periodically. Right now, Bernie is exhorting his supporters to commit to Hillary (Bravo, Bernie) But, he is being booed for that.
Huh… Never seen the word “Weird” being used as a synonym for “predictable” before…
