Discussion: FBI Concludes Las Vegas Mass Shooting Probe Without Finding Gunman's Motive

Be nice. My postman asked me to get him a sticker like I have on my car that is the GOP with hammer and sickel and I did. He said it looks awesome on his black car.

I love the USPS and I particularly love my postman here.

I hit ā€˜like’ because it is true but how can anybody ā€˜like’ that reality?

What a dismal quest, and for such an empty prize

I probably won’t be the first person on here to observe that it doesn’t matter so much what his motive was. People tend to stop caring about what actually happened to a bunch of innocent people once they are able to pigeonhole the gunman by his politics. I’ve seen a lot of rightwing grumbling about how the FBI must be covering up a leftwing background for the Vegas shooter. I think it must worry them a lot that it remains an enigma to them. (It’s not an enigma to me: the guy was very mad at casinos; he possessed a shit ton of guns & ammo; he was in a position to enact a first-person shooter game; he acted on his means & opportunity.)

I think you’ve committed a Poe’s Law violation. Not sure which kind of police I should call to come nab you, though. :^/

Five past days, five shootings. Who knew? I’m so ready to leave this country … but there’s nowhere to go.

I think the using the term ā€œviolenceā€ is being judgmental.*

*This message brought to you by the NRA.

ā€œAuthorities said Paddock’s guns had been legally purchased.ā€

How many of our recent mass murderers have been NRA members? Is this a fair connection to make considering the GOP’s realm of ā€œlogicā€ concerning immigrants and crime?

How many profess to be Christians? That’s where we need to be paying attention. There oughta be a law.

My postwoman saw my son’s ā€œbig envelopeā€ college acceptance letter that he had been frantically waiting for in the sorting bins at the PO. She grabbed it and raced it to our front door before she did her route.

I LOVE my postwoman.

So us ordinary citizens need to carry guns for self defense?

How do you defend yourself against a guy spraying the crowd from the 32nd floor?

If your neighbor shoots into your home when he is cleaning his gun, is it considered self defense if you shoot back?

If you let your friend handle your gun and the friend shoots you, how are you supposed to defend yourself when the friend has the gun?

If your toddler grabs your gun and shoots themself, it’s child endangerment and abuse. Is it also child endangerment and abuse if they shoot you?

Waiting for your answers, wayne fucking lapierre

Wow. That is a sobering article.

America’s ā€œgun culture that steeps troubled and ineffectual men in this notion of redemption through violenceā€ sounds suspiciously similiar to the engine room of much of the Trumper phenomenon. No wonder the NRA and the GOP are locked at the hip.

My favorite has to be the dog that shoots the hunter. Cracks me up. You never hear Toby Keith singing songs about that. What’s it gonna be, Toby??!! Man up!! And don’t forget to have a train run over that dog later. right after it’s finished screwing your girlfriend.

I’ve always been pleased with my mail carrier and neighborhood post office.
When I go away on vacation I have the mail held at the post office. When I return they have it nicely packaged for me to pick up where the clerk gives me a friendly greeting while addressing me by my name. You don’t get better than that.

Sometimes Batsh!t crazy is just Batsh!t crazy.
Nothing more, nothing less!

His motive is simply he did it for the Thrill. The thrill of killing another person is not talked about much. Sometimes it leaks out that the best sex ever is after a killing. (I do not personally know.) High stakes poker is done for both the euphoria of not loosing and the thrilling high of winning. He got tired of that. It was not enough.

He made plans to get away. The nosey security guard stopped that, so he went for plan B. Had he made it to his provisioned car, he could drive home to have a big standoff. Maybe he wanted to experience the thrill of being hunted. BUT he did not plan that part too well.

It is not just the guns. In China they do not allow guns. The mass killings are done with knives. Happens in their schools also. The CCP controls the media and hides this situation. In USA it is a media event.

He had the thrill of killing fifty+ strangers on his bucket list. ā€œCan’t buy a thrill!ā€

Peace

You forgot legalize Machine Guns, and Grenade/Rocket Launchers we need rocket launchers if we’re ever gonna be safe.

And the tactical nuclear missiles.

ā€œā€¦ it doesn’t matter so much what his motive wasā€¦ā€

My thoughts, too. The premise of the question is that there is some sort of rational thought behind the culprit’s actions. Does anyone truly care that he had a motive?
If a man murders his wife for the insurance money, his motive is greed. What kind of motive does it take to slaughter dozens of innocent persons?
