Discussion: FBI: Background Check Loophole Allowed Dylann Roof To Purchase Gun

They, tragically, didn’t work in this one instance.

I knew that response by that person would be at the top of the comments listing. Recycled nra dogma.

We should legalize murder, because the “don’t murder” laws clear aren’t followed by murderers.

Wrap it up libtards, this debate is over!

Absolutely! Insanity is doing nothing about guns, doing nothing to strengthen and toughen our gun laws, caring more about inanimate objects than our own children, and expecting different results.

No beej, she and others want to make them work. And enact TOUGHER laws alongside them.

What part of that does your wee noodle not comprehend?

But I do want to commend you beej. I know of no one else who is so regularly reviled and continually the butt of great snark and laughter who would continue to willingly shit themselves the way you do.

Bless your little heart, Thanks for the laughs beej!

The RWNJ will put out the story that it was a Dem who screwed up …

I am a supporter of strict gun control. However, I think that those with criminal intent will find a way to get a gun whether it s legally obtained or gotten in another, illegal, manner. So i dont completely blame the FBI for this guy having a gun. I am glad that we are admitting there are process/holes in the way the background checks are happening and identifying areas for improvement. Really, we need to talk about mental health in this country. It wasn’t too long ago we were in the truly dark ages of mental healthcare- people being locked away in prisonlike confinement, submitted to lobotomies and electric shock therapy. We have improved since then, but we still have a very long way to go.

What makes you so sure it’s only one?

While we certainly need sensible gun laws, the root of the problem is the deep, irrational hatred this person held towards minorities. What led this man to hate this way? And, at a time when Donald Trump is facing significant consequences for his hate speech, why are people like Rush Limbaugh and others still out there frothing at the mouth while spewing absolute garbage. Hate speech that encourages violence is not protected by the 1st amendment.

Show us that it’s not Mr Hodnovich.

Provide us with the case for strengthening our background check processes.

Please proceed!

So Beej (we all know you’re Beej including the mods, Beej) thinks insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results?

Well, Beejie boy, you do a lot of posting derp and everyone just points and laughs. Over and over again you do it. Over and over again. Do you see where I’m going with this? Take your time and think about it.

So by your own standards, you are insane. Thanks for clearing that up.

The fact that you and the NRA aren’t trumpeting others cases and claiming they “prove all gun laws must be repealed or we will never be safe” or something equally moronic.

Yes, he’s the butt of many of our jokes, to be sure.

It makes one wonder, what kind of moron does this repeatedly, proffering flaccid debunked memes and desperately trying to impress us? It really defies explanation, unless he actually doesn’t realize how ludicrous he sounds. Maybe it’s a kind of intellectual deficiency.

I confess I am curious about just who was responsible for the failure to put the information in the database. Don’t want to speculate, but yes, very curious.

The fact is that it has done a lot about guns, Brady laws comes to mind among others including the creation of so called “Gun Free Zones” and yet nothing has changed. See how you got that wrong?

Yeah, “gun free zones.” A phrase recently invented by the NRA to describe common sense made explicit policy because of morons running around armed for no good reason. The practice has been around as long as there have been idiots coming to town with guns on their hips. See “Wyatt Earp.” What has changed: the NRA lost it’s collective mind, the number of guns in the country has exploded, and gun violence is way up. See how you got everything wrong?

Using your “logic”, we ought to legalize the exploitation, rape, and sexual abuse of children since we keep catching more and more child molesters and because of NAMBLA.

I’ve read that he used birthday (or maybe Christmas) money from his parents to make the purchase. Apparently the parents and even his roommate found out at different times and tried to confiscate the weapon or were successful and then returned the weapon to him.
