“The American people [continue] to be well-served by the world’s preeminent law enforcement agency."
That’s good, because the American people are facing a serious threat and could use some help.
Maybe, just maybe, they’ll start voting for the Democratic ticket now.
These sound like the rank-and-file agents Trump tried to stroke in yesterday’s tweet. Looks like Democratic subversion of the Bureau extends all the way down! Maybe the GOP should just recommend abolishing it, and expand ICE’s mandate.
And they went on to say , “It is especially unfortunate for you stupid motherfuckers who can’t seem to grasp the concept we’re the good guys. because we have a shitload of incriminating evidence on all of you.
Payback will be a bitch”
From CNN…
“Trump, by accusing the leadership of having a bias against Republicans,
is once again maligning people he appointed to their roles, including
FBI Director Christopher Wray, a man Trump nominated after he fired
former FBI Director James Comey in May.”
…Let that last part sink in. Again, toss that on the ever growing pile of O-O-J evidence. My two cents.
Anyone who voted for Trump and does not now have serious buyer’s remorse is, yes, I will say it, deplorable!
Again, let me just say that I’m experiencing some real schadenfreude watching the Republican party and Trump administration do all in their power to destroy the FBI.
What do you think, is it too high a number to say 80% of all FBI special agents are life long Republicans? I’ve know a handful of FBI agents and they were all pretty smug Republicans.
Remember the involvement of the NY Field office in smearing Hillary and the official FBI twitter feed’s overt actions on behalf of Trump? Here is a little walk down memory lane for those who might have forgotten:
As grandma was [overly] fond of saying, be careful what you wish for.
“FBI Agents Association Decries ‘Partisan Politics’ After Release Of Nunes Memo”
Maybe “decries accusation of partisanship”? Or “denies ‘Partisan Politics’”? The impression I got was that the FBIAA was saying the memo was partisan, which is not the case.
It’s almost a catch-22 situation for Wray.
If he resigns, it means he’s probably a man of integrity and should have stayed.
If he stays, it could possibly mean he’s not able to stand up to Trump (among other explanations), and should have resigned.
I’m torn about this.
Shorter FBI: "C’mon guys, we’ve been reliably supporting the Republicans since the beginning of our existence, spying on every liberal group we could over the decades. Hell, we even tried to get MLK to off himself.
And now you’re stabbing us in the back. Some gratitude."
He should stay and continue to defend the Bureau, and force Trump to fire him.
I wish some enterprising reporter would start digging into the role of the FBI’s office in the SDNY, and discover just how fucking partisan that hotbed of Clinton-haters was/is.
He should probably stay, but at a minimum speak out forcefully in defense of the FBI.
“Gratitude” from Trump? Don’t hold your breath waiting.
I’m inclined to agree because he’s already made his opposition to the release of the memo known a priori. Speaks to his independence.
I believe that Wray has ‘Bridge-Gate’ Chris Christie ties…but not entirely sure. In any event, I concur, tough spot for the newly appointed FBI Director.
Whatever the libertarians like to think, the reality is that you can’t govern if you don’t have a police and a military to enforce your policies, you can’t govern if you don’t have someone to go and kill or jail the people that do not comply with your laws and decrees. Look at any failed state out there, is not that there are no “government” is that it doesn’t have the means to enforce it’s authority.
The mayors of Baltimore and New York recently found out what happens when you upset your local police, the cops deliberately let the crime go up in their cities.
Trump and Nunes are deliberately and unnecessarily attacking their Federal Police. I do not know how pissed off are the agents against Trump and Nunes, but terrorists would probably think that they might be more successful attacking targets with a T on top or otherwise in the 22nd CA District. Or maybe some pictures of Nunes with naked boy get leaked.
I will bypass birthday presents, Christmas gifts, donuts… everything but dark chocolate (will sacrifice for in case of extreme need) for your quote to be even half way accurate.
all I can add to your comment is “pretty please”
I’m not torn. Wray is damaged goods: he took the job after Trump canned Comey. He knew what he was getting in to, and got into it anyway.
He’s not going to resign out of some noble principle, either.
