Note above the police can hold it as evidence as long as they consider it evidence. Fact. Ah, but look, the police actually in reality said they could have picked up, and said that on Sep 18. A long time ago. So the reality is that this family is full of shit, and this TPM article is a “bait” article for the clueless. The article gives the impression that the police are saying they can’t have the clock, even though the police said they could pick it up over a week ago because it is no longer needed as evidence. How come TPM left that out of this article, it’s been in the news for a long time. I guess it does not fit their “agenda”.
I suspect they (the family, dad is a showman) want a media show when they go to pick it up. Waited for the Pope to split, they will probably pick it up this week, and make it look like they could not do it before that. They need to milk this for as much as they can. Slugs.
So you don’t want to answer the question then? You’d rather disparage the family because it’s easier? No worries.Hope that makes you feel smart and important.
So, in fact there is no legal justification for the police holding seized property once it has been determined that the seized property has no evidentiary value in a criminal investigation, the threat of a civil lawsuit against the police, and your assertions, notwithstanding. Thanks.
If the police think it can still be evidence, they can hold it, yes. Apparently they have enough photos of the contraption and records of the questioning if the kid to show that the family stands ZERO chance if they try to sue for false arrest. I’d love to see them try.
Setup from day one. And as now noted, the kid did not invent squat. Now there is video of some guy going in 20 seconds, what this kid said too 10 minutes. Take a clock apart, shove it in a little case, and tie a cable around it. Reason? Obviously to bait.
Folks, I’ve been there and sympathize. He’s like a kid standing on a chair in the kitchen next to the open cabinet with the cookie jar smashed in pieces on the floor repeatedly saying he has no idea how it happened. You may find this brief encyclopedia entry enlightening: Proof by assertion.
