Climate Change
I wish her all the best and miss her presence in the Senate dearly. The range of ticks and especially lyme disease continues to expand as the climate changes. It hasn’t quite reached Buncombe yet but I’ve started doing checks when I get back from runs.
The new tick disease that is really scary is Powassan. With Lyme disease, the tick has to be attached for many hours before it can pass the disease on. Powassan can be transmitted in just a couple hours or less, and is far less treatable.
I am very sorry to hear this and wish her the fullest recovery possible.
