What the hell is going on in Washington? This sounds like a episode of some sick soap opera. Peyton Place on the Potomac. This is embarrassing for all concerned
I think there is another issue here. It is the court systemâs tolerance for bs filings and foot-dragging. Sheâs right. If one party has less money than the other, all the other has to do is keep filing motions. Ask Trump! The courts should somehow acknowledge and take into account the financial differences of the parties. The system shouldnât be one of âhow much justice can you afford?â Justice needs to be equally available and unconstrained by finances. Otherwise, where is the justice?
No child needs to be involved in any of this. Donât care who the parents are.
When this kid looks at his life history in 10 years, how is he gonna feel about both his parents publicly acting like this? No one thinks of that in any of these cases, especially the high publicity ones like this. The parents are so determined to destroy each other, theyâre forgetting about the child.
This kid will never have a chance to have a normal life because his dad is a philanderer and his mother is of questionable repute. This is all this kid has.
Swellsome?
Family values. And this is what happens when gays are allowed to marry.
I find it more than a little ironic that sheâs getting screwed by a vindictive ass, but continues to work for Trump (super-PAC wise)- someone with the exact same mindset.
Iâm curious where the story goes. Maybe this is the kind of mugging that turns a conservative into a liberal. At the very least, we have too many conservative pundits who act like street corner lunatics, proceeding without reflection or empathy, and thereâs a glimmer in the AJ interview of her demonstrating those traits. Itâs an interesting contrast to how conservative mom Ann Coulter handled her last couple of weeks.
Trumppland. If you donât have a Russian connection, have an affair.
Not.Going.To.Happen!
Lord, I tryâŚ
Constantly amazed how Republicans, et al., are willing to bang obvious dirtbags like Trump (McDougal due to Trumpâs âgood postureâ, Stormy at least wanted on The Apprentice) and Miller, who are obvious âI donât give a crapâ kinda people, and are, uh, shall we say, ahem, butt ugly?
Does there even exist a large enough toilet to be able to the handle the flushing of both humongous turds simultaneously?
O heaven fofend.
Bingo. The people involved donât need to be famous. In my case (many years ago and we all survived), my ex took me to court an average of every 6-8 weeks to revise our custody agreement. He didnât even hire an attorney but was smart enough to draft his own petitions. Because it involved my kids and their future, I paid a lawyer to represent me every time. The judge tossed each petition because they got more and more ridiculous, but there had to be a hearing. At one point, my attorney actually told me to save my money for my kidsâ college and just represent myself. Thatâs the way the system works.
This is a personal matter not news. Why are they airing dirty laundry?
Insight into GOP culture and the craven, depraved people it attracts.
At least where I live, the family court system is stacked against the father: Whatâs good for Mom is good for the child. Dad and custody? Very difficult. Crack whore Mom and responsible Dad? The Court will go with Mom every time. All Mom all the time.
What about the tender yearâs doctrine? That a child should be with his/her mom, absent gross unfitness, for the childâs youngest years? I would expect that to be the case but I donât know FL family law. If itâs as whacked out as the rest of their jurisprudence âŚ
50/50 custody for a kid with two parents that far apart? How do you do that? Best that dad is likely to get is summer vacation and Christmas break. Heâs a POS. She may be a Trumpster but she sounds like sheâs trying to be a good mother. Him as a dad? Not so.
What is with theseTrumpsters? To the last, itâs hard to find a redeeming quality in any of them. All are POS. Every one. Every last one.
Many here are right. The kid is innocent. Just like any kid: Leave him alone to enjoy the only childhood he will ever have. He is without sin.
I agree with you wholeheartedly, but I lost Delgado when she cried poverty and bias in family court toward ârichâ people. âIâm living a real-life version of the handmaidâs tale, w/ the rich couple trying to snatch the boy.â
Please. She is making over $120K and living in her motherâs house. Most Americans (>80%) would kill for that salary, and she should read up on the Handmaidâs Tale to truly understand the plot.
Regardless of the exact details of Miller and Delgadoâs interactions, itâs astounding how she can maintain conservative perspective of the Trump-era GOP while suffering (yes, according to her) archetypal exploitation by a system that favors the rich and powerful. Poor people of all stripes, and plenty of financially sound people of color, immigrants, and others experience what sheâs going through all the time. Good for her for recognizing that poor women in similar situations are in similar straits, but how that doesnât alter her political affiliation is beyond me. (And she doesnât have to register as a Democrat, either. Independent would do just fine. But Delgado, really, walk away from the GOP.)
I donât think Ann Coulter has any childrenâŚ
But perhaps I didnât catch the true context of your last sentence.
I canât even think of what 200 pleadings would include. But sheâs not helping her case by wanting to push back the paternity test two months. A cheek swab for both of them us not a big deal and the judge will order a paternity test.
She should be smarter about what she accepts and what she fights.
UNLIKEABLE??? Miller is a Brave and Noble warrior for FAMILY VALUES!!! Covfefe!
