while working as a teacher and wrestling coach at Lumen Christi High School in Jackson.
You have to wonder disparity between this(20- 40years) and what Hastert got (15 months).
Jared Fogle got over 15 years. Hastert, only 15 months. IOKIYAR.
I wonder if Delay et. al. would care to give this guy a character reference as well?
Wow. Hastert was lucky they didn’t catch him sooner.
My god, these men are brave. This priest was moved around from school to school. Has the Roman Catholic Church fessed up to its complicit actions? They knew this man was raping boy and young men.
edited to change ‘victim’ to ‘men.’
I think Hastert was convicted of going around banking rules, not for child molestation. That accounts for the difference.
@ajaykalra $$$, political clout, and TomDeLay’s "LeaveDennyAlone’ letter.
I am aware that Hastert was not prosecuted for molestation but for his illegal structured payments due to the statute of limitations. But the overall injustice screams out. I suppose I could reword my comment to say, “Hastert, 0 years”.
I’m beginning to think we should start banning wrestling in high schools. And what of the pastors, bishops, cardinals and school authorities under whose supervision this man worked? Lot of blame to go around.
Schools are in a rush to hire bathroom genitalia monitors. Keeping an eye on predatory teachers and staff will have to wait.
This guy is like radioactive waste. Toxic. Unable to be recycled. Should be stored away in isolation forever.
the only way to heal, move forward and to protect others from this same thing is to bring it out into the open
The rightwing’s bathroom laws seek to restore shame, fear and isolation, the very environment most suited to molesters and abusers.
This sex-crazed priest molested in 11 cities with likely hundreds of victims.
Holier than thou priests and leaders like Christian Conservative Denny had a good thing going for centuries, time’s up…
And Dennis Hastert, the former Speaker of the House, received 15 months in prison for molesting innocent children while serving as a high school wrestling coach.
Something is sorely wrong with this picture!
Hastert got 15 months for breaking banking laws. Has never been charged with child rape.
God is clearly not paying attention since with all his vast powers, He could stop this right away.
Schools Republican legislators and executives are in a rush to hire bathroom genitalia monitors
FIFY. The conclusion still follows.
“He worked in Philadelphia; Salt Lake City; Naperville, Illinois; Duncan, Oklahoma; Jackson, Michigan and Lockport, New York before he was defrocked as a priest.”
It sounds to me like some other people need to go to jail.
You are absolutely correct and he should have…rape should not be chargeable on a statute of limitation basis only…for it should be just like murder…its never too late to be charged.
Some day, and I hope it’s soon, the world will quit listening to pretty much anything the catholic church says or professes. The monsters that populate the ranks of catholic clergy should be routinely told to get the hell out of town and never come back. How many centuries of treachery, deceit, rape, torture and willful ignorance (of science and medicine, for example) must people observe before realizing that the church is a horrible institution that has done far more harm than good to mankind. Here’s one of the best smackdowns ever from our dear departed friend, Chris Hitchens:
