Plus, he might have to walk more than 200 feet. I am still trying to process that he rode in a stretch limo with an 8-car motorcade to cross the street (which is closed to pedestrians and surrounded by armed guards and barriers) to greet the Bush family at Blair House.
I know I always feel awkward myself when I walk into a room and everyoneâs thinking, âI managed not to betray my country by engaging in an unheard-of conspiracy with a hostile nation to trade my influence over foreign policy for money and electoral help. Whatâs your excuse?â
I can hear him now: âGet me out of here.â
Iâm thinking of George HW Bush.
Ever the âturd in the punch bowlâ, Trumpâs very presence will degrade the entire event. Heâll pout, frown and otherwise convey how upset he is that the ceremony isnât all about him. The crowning achievement by the Bushâs would be to ask Obama to speak, but not Trump.
Uncomfortable? Not uncomfortable enough. Not nearly uncomfortable enough.
Cries is more like it. Every day and every night.
Yeah, Iâm going to have to go out on a limb and say that itâs just the opposite of this headline. It will be EVERYONE ELSE who is uncomfortable, not the guy with no self-awareness. I kind of pity everyone who has to be within 200 feet of that asshole.
You would think Trump would be used to it. It is the way NYC Society and Palm Beach Society treat him.
I am all for anything that makes Donnie uncomfortable. His instincts are consistently inappropriate and tacky. Isolate him from decent people.
He canât lumber that far.
It will be no more uncomfortable for Donnie than if someone smeared Hot and Icy Ointment on the crotch of his DEPENDS.
I just hope Obama says something to needle him, like the DC Correspondence dinner redo!
Hillary could pipe in too.
In a way, it is a favor to them.
And it must be particularly insulting when that contest includes George W. Bush. (Have we forgotten so quickly, or mostly because the current occupant of the White House pretty much eclipses the problems of all previous ones?)
Personally, I am hoping that it is just the beginning of Trumpâs Discomfort.
At his age still desperately trying to be one of the âcool kids.â
Just proves you canât buy respect. You have to earn it. And, Trump never will.
I noticed yesterday Trump was so uncomfortable in the Rotunda, plus it was clear he did not know what to do.
He frowned (not showing sadness, just a frown), did an uncomfortable salute, and then you could read his lips as he said to Melania, âLetâs go.â And, then he was gone - and I think I heard a sigh of relief from all in attendance.
It will be interesting how he âperformsâ today.
Frankly, call me insensitive but the only reason to watch this thing today is not for the expected hagiography that will be on display by all of the speakers, as is normally the case at funerals, but to watch that Orange Fuck squirm in his seat. If weâre lucky, heâll leave early (probably out of boredom), just to make this thing all about him, somehow.
Someone (perhaps even many someones) will have a camera fixed on Spankee every second he is there. Personally, I would not be surprised to see some weird behavior from him.
And I would be surprised not to see some weird behavior from him. (Maybe he will get lucky and they will get his medication level just right, subdued but not quite dottering.)
I normally wouldnât watch the funeral but might have to today to see how the idiot-in-chief performs. Hoping he is totally ostracized by others.
Look up âbitter laughterâ and find a photograph of Melania Trump, along with many, many others.
