The word Patriot is being devalued daily. There should be a stock ticker for it. People have used the word to the point of being meaningless.
Good, maybe when this clown inevitably breaks election and fundraising laws, we can collect all the emails and records from America First Action to make sure no other laws have been broken.

One of my (admittedly many) pet peeves: Elected officials who leave office, and then saddle taxpayers with the expense and hassle of an extra special election.
It does seem GOP’ers do this more than Dems — what with all the K Street tricks to turn and Fox News contracts out there waiting for them. At least, in the case of Republicans, there’s a chance that they’ll be replaced by an actual public servant.

The local hype indicated something more grand than a back-bencher on the speaker’s circuit (and also NOT in the administration and NOT on Fox, so true that – though he’ll probably be on Fox just as much or more in his new gig). So this is a half-deflated “Surprise!” balloon or a wilted bouquet of flowers. Best news from here is he quit his office and he’ll be gone most or all of time. Might even move to the Hamptons to be Sean “Sluggo” Hannity’s neighbor and black friend.

I think it should be pretty obvious.
Assumed as much. “Another black welfare queen” is a comment that should have died an ignoble death in the Reagan Administration. Clarke deserves ridicule, but resurrecting vile stereotypes doesn’t look good on anyone.
The people endorsing him, the people he panders to, are the people who both created and endorsed that stereotype.
I could call him Uncle Tom, but in this case, he’s actively enjoying Right-Wing Welfare: Not just for whites anymore!
So, no, not going to change my use of it. Don’t like it? I’m sure you can find a fainting couch somewhere.
