Discussion: Ex-Christie Aide: I Told Guv About BridgeGate Plans Despite What He Told Press

And we’ve known this since the day the scandal broke. The only breaking news here is that Christie can’t hide behind his lies anymore.

Grounds for impeachment.

I can see that fat turds Presidential aspirations going down the drain.

Why the false dilemma?

Make that an Airbus A380 and I’ll agree.

Great screename.

Christie’s fellow rats are signaling that he is done. Until they believed he would go down they kept silent, now the flood gates are opening. Christie has lost his mojo and the people he stepped on are getting up, dusting off and going for his jugular.

You know, it’s fairly clear that something was going on here- perhaps, like Nixon, Christie didn’t really know what some zealots on his team were really up to. And, like Nixon, since the truth came out, there’s been an effort to shut down the investigation.

I can’t believe that Christie will be successful in this, but then, frankly, times have changed - lots more things are deliberately and successfully buried these days (like retroactive immunity for phone company behavior, or federal judges ending ongoing investigations in Wisconsin) and I currently see no evidence that this case will be any different.

That dripping sound just got louder.

Old news! Heard this Weds night on NPR.

All of the above.

Hark!
I believe I hear a noise nearby!

Ah, it’s just the fat lady warming up in the wings.
It’s almost time for her solo.

Let’s be careful. Guys like Chiristie tend to be hard to “put away”.

I’s mostly a bulk issue.

Excellent comment. I agree.

Could Wildstein and Kelly have pulled this off without Christie’s knowledge?

One wouldn’t think so.

Ah, yes. He combines the salient qualities of Nixon and Harding with the demeanor of [acting president] Cheney and the sainted Dubya.*

I thought we already knew that it was Christie’s idea or he approved of it, but either way, he knew about it. I think Christie is the only one who can possibly think he didn’t. Time for some [special elections] in Trenton.

-All right, now if anyone knew anything about these lane closures, I want to hear about it right now!
-Governor, I knew about the lane closures. In fact, you knew about the lane closures.
-All right, so no one knew about the lane closures. Thanks, everyone, meeting adjourned.
