Oh, it’s a huge cliché, that’s why I used it. We’ve known about this stuff since before the election, and of its possibility long before that. I’m half joking as usual and the other half more having an ongoing shock of recognition that it’s really real than freaking out at the enormity of it. It’s exposed now, and we’ll clean it up in time. Sunlight as disinfectant, all that. Remember the end of the film Witness? There’s only so much exposure even the tightest plot can withstand, and this one is very exposed and was never very tight.

Yes. I remember spending a lot of time discussing how hackable evoting machines are and speculating. No more speculation needed.

In 2002, one of my state SoS representatives referred to me as one of “those people” who dared to opine that a computer network is vulnerable to malicious mischief. The response: one machine is only connected to one other machine. My response: that is the definition of a network.
It can be exhausting to do the thinking for two people.
