Latest tweet is about Obama with a reference to a witch hunt.

I think the cigarette–which was fixed at a 10 degree down angle the entirety of a 25-foot step-back from the edge of the boat–made me sit up and pay attention.

Nice try though.

Watch Trump lose re-election then resign quickly so Pence can pardon him

Those were the apex of Trudeau’s oeuvre. It’s good to see one of them again.

There’s always this courtesy of John Cleese.

Ode to Sean Hannity

Aping urbanity
Oozing with vanity
Plump as a manatee
Faking humanity
Journalistic calamity
Intellectual inanity
Fox Noise insanity
You’re a profanity

I can’t see a self-pardon holding up for the reasons mentioned above.

The wildcard is Pence, if he’s briefly in office long enough to do it. I don’t automatically assume Pence would pardon him. Pence has his own agenda, trying to either get elected Prez or at least retain some degree of influence in the party, so he could continue pushing Christian hegemony. That agenda might not withstand the stink of pardoning an actual criminal.

That would mean being nominated. Don’t count on that happening.

Drumpf LUUUUVS him some assertiveness. Even to the point of announcing (to actual people) the absurdity that his ā€œadministrationā€ has been the best ever.

Matt once said that he would revisit some thoughts about how people make decisions regarding political stances and politicians.

For about 24 months, that is all I have been doing in my ā€œabsenceā€ from this site. And one thing that has stood out for me is the word:

ā€œmarketingā€

Trump has been able to actually exist as a U.S. president with behavior and policy the worst in history because he has been able to marshal the help of a foreign government, a thoroughly corrupt GOP Senate, a compromised Supreme Court and, finally, the ability to market himself to the very people upon whom the corrupt GOP Senate depends.

In all fairness, maybe ā€œmarketingā€ is not the right word…but my meaning in offered in earnest.

My thought exactly. Cue the ā€œlow-IQā€ or ā€œbrown people shouldn’t be allowed to judge meā€ for Yale Law graduate and natural-born-citizen of USA.

You are essentially correct.

In fact that is what Data Analytics was all about. They did detailed psychological portraits of potential voters and tailored messages directly to them on Facebook and Twitter and it worked.

Wish I could say jajajajaja on this one. The other people can (and do) though.

Much as I loathe Pence and would much rather he be ousted along with Hair Furor simultaneously, so we could have President Pelosi…

There is a part of me that would love to see Trump go down with the expectation of a Pence Pardon, followed by Pence pulling a Henry V:

I know thee not, old man: fall to thy prayers; How ill fake hairs become a fool and jester!
