I don’t know about you guys, but I didn’t bring a suitcase of cash to closing.
I don’t trust Burr, because he’s a republican, but he’s smart enough not to sabotage things in obvious ways. And the mess is big enough that it’s going to be hard to sabotage an investigation in non-obvious ways.
I suspect snittit meant 2019 because he thinks Pat Roberts is involved in the investigation, and will sit on the findings report for at least an extra year, as he did with his Intelligence Committee’s report on Iraq, until all elections were over.

Well, maybe now is the time for the GOP DC Reichstag fire. Maybe they’ll burn down EPA HQs and get really self-righteous about it. “Look how angry we are, our environmental agency has been sacked!” Decrees!
Here’s part of the poem i referred to:
The Mountain labor’d, groaning loud,
On which a num’rous gaping crowd
Of noodles came to see the sight,
When, lo ! a mouse was brought to light!
Will there be Federal elections post mid-November 2018? (before 2020 that is)
Ah, excellent. The new moon has brought us fresh news and a new direction to follow. Please continue.
late edit: I love a headline that says, “The Shit Just Got Real.”
Please bring an end to the lunacy!
Hadn’t seen the news that Dem Senators have called Sessions on the carpet to explain Bharara’s firing. Another crack in the wall?
Let the investigation begin.
Let the drip drip drip leaking begin.
It will come go a head when Trump must consent for the release his tax returns.
He will refuse then resign. He loves his money more than country. He will go down by following the money.
Tip of the hat to @bergoff and thanks @demyankee for the link.
My default is to not trust Burr, but so far he’s doing a good job of proving he’s not a clown Devin Nunes.
That’s actually very bad news for Trump. The longer this goes on, the more will come out…both from their investigation and from other sources…and the longer it stays in the news. His polls are already taking a brutal pummeling. 6 months…a year…18 months of this? Add to that their complete ineptness at responding to bad news…the new squirrel act is already wearing thin. The rats leaving his ship will be the biggest migration in history.
That’s the real question. Because the Senate does not have the authority to indict or prosecute any crimes they discover. At best, they can recommend any wrongdoing to the DoJ…and Sessions. Now its entirely possible that they can create enough political pressure and force Sessions hand, but that is no way a given. Of course all of that is assuming Sessions doesn’t end up being one of the prime targets, which I think is very possible.
Wow
Seems all of the trump people were heavily into laundering money.
I don’t want to imagine it, I want to see it.
He’s a germ phobe. He won’t touch it until it’s been laundered…
According to the Wicked-pedians there have been versions scattered down the literary landscape for centuries, nay, millenia.
Well, let’s hope that this needn’t be applied in our instant case. I, for one, want bloody heads on pikes, rotting treasonists’ bodies on the gibbets!
@ignoreland may be feeling the old bloodlust rising…
But Sessions has already recused himself from the Russia investigations. Shouldn’t that block him from being in on the decision to prosecute?
(And by the way, for everyone - I sure hope we don’t any of that “unindicted co-conspirator” weasel-talk like in Watergate. I want that daughter-f**ker’s name on every subpoena.)
The crimes happened in New York, which has state laws about money laundering, so they could hand the dossier to AG Schniederman.
“@daveyjones64 will now be attempting the dual-rodent reference, this is really thrilling”.
