Da-da IS “The News” (because he’s “The President”). If “The Media” ignored him and went around looking for other stuff to write about, they would NOT be doing “Their Job”. The stockmarket is “Business News” and it gets covered by media outlets like Bloomberg (The Business News Media). If you think something is missing, then you go ahead, write it up and post it to your blog - see how many people pay attention (hint: none).

The media figures they interacted with were never personal friends of the family. They were always breaking bread or chatting with the Trumps as professionals cultivating sources or behaving with normal social grace at events they both attended. The Trumps never associated with these individuals purely out of personal affection for them either. There seems to be some confusion about roles here. Hillary and Bill Clinton attended Trump’s wedding to the first lady, but that did not stop him from treating Ms. Clinton vilely during the campaign.
To expect clan loyalty from business contacts is absurd.
