Discussion: Eric Cantor Thinks Joe Biden Is 'Awesome'

Discussion for article #230103

Of course, Eric, Democrats are good people.

Cantor is probably describing Joe Biden accurately. However, I was struck by this comment, “Cantor said last week that while he received a call from the vice president after losing his primary race, he never heard a peep from Obama.” Did he really expect a sympathy call from the President?

Sounds like Eric is doing some of the necessary advance work for the upcoming impeachment drive!

The bigger issue once is why Politico and now Time seek out another losing GOPer. All the media do. They immediate contact the losing GOP candidate for interviews. Rare is the case when a Democrat loses an election (or a primary in Cantor’s case) that the media is immediately after them for interviews. The constant shilling for the GOP by the media is vile. And TPM does not do any better. For example, no mention in this article about how President Obama called Cantor to wish him a Happy Passover and how Cantor essentially rebuked the President. Ms. Thompson is apparently taking lessons from Mr. Sahil about how to be sure to put a negative spin on President Obama regardless of the article you write. And I am not being totally sarcastic as it seems endemic to TPM reporters/articles.

With the full help of Time/the media who sought him out for the interview.

I think we just found the reason for the Biden shout out, just another dig at Obama.

Conversely, I’d waste urine on him, even if he weren’t on fire.

Does seem backward, but appropriate!

Now, why in the world would President Obama call him on his loss? If he had, it would have been messaged as “gloating, etc.” Stupid!

So the President hasn’t reached out enough, Mr. Cantor?
Then explain why you and Rep. Paul Ryan helped undermine a 2011 deal between Speaker Boehner and President Obama to cut the national debt by $4 trillion?
Or, how, after President Obama agreed to your party’s suggestion for a debt-reduction commission, you immediately led the opposition to its findings – even to its establishment?
How about you explain why Boehner, McConnell and other Congressional Republicans have repeatedly turned down invitations from the President, and at times have even refused to take his calls?
Fact is, this President inherited a national catastrophe of historic proportions, and rather than assist his efforts to unite this country and face its problems, you have instead led a campaign of wall-to-wall obstruction.
And now you’re upset because the President didn’t commiserate with you after you lost your seat to a nobody?
Cry me a river.

Yes, you are right. The goal was to diss the President, not applaud Joe Biden.

Cantor is not as dumb as I thought.

maybe republicans like you should have invited Obama to that steak dinner you had the night before his inaugural…you know, the one where you planned to destroy him

Fuck you, Can’tor. It is not like the President has nothing else to do than play to your inane bullshit.

I’m reminded of a report last year after Sen. Inhoff’s son was tragically killed in a plane crash. He said he was puzzled that no Republicans offered condolences to him but several Democrats reached out to him.
