When Obama called Cantor to wish him a happy Passover in spring 2014 Cantor sent out a press release saying that he was insulted by the President calling after earlier in the day stating that the House GOP was blocking immigration reform.
So after rebuffing a call from the President and embarrassing him publicly, Cantor is surprised Obama didnāt call him after Cantor lost his primary a couple months later?
Give me a break.

Not calling was the kindest and most gentlemanly think the President could have done. Cantor would have been able to see the smirk on the Presidentās face over the phone. His tender feelings would have been badly hurt.

Cantor does not care about the President calling him or not. His comment was solely to fan the āObama is not a nice, thoughtful personā flames to the media and the Teabaggers. In essence, Cantor was doing the classic Teabagger thing: projection.
It is truly sad that the media continue to provide soapboxes to losing GOPers. Time and time again. Cheney, McCain, Romney, Cantor, Cuccinelli, etc.) It is extremely rare that whenever a Democrat is in the same position (losing an election) that the media invites the Democrat to whatever program to give them a soapbox.

several times yesterday, i heard āreportersā note that obama refused to meet with boehner/mcconnell; and tweety highlighted the comment by mcconnellās aide that obama and mcconnell had only met twice in 6 yearsā¦ and never once were the past efforts by obama at outreach mentionedā¦ the phone calls that were refused; the social invitations to the white house declined ā remember the screening of ālincolnāā¦
i know this is pointless to again note; but until thereās a responsible media willing to call out the lies and misdirection ā instead of providing the opportunities to spread them ā nothing is going to change.
