The man´s son committed suicide. I don´t think it´s humane to invoke his death to score political points; that is what O´Reilly just did.
ETA: I am the father of a child who suffers from depression. I know several people who have had children who committed suicide. Mr. Bolling may be a horrible person. But I wouldn´t wish that lifetime of pain on anybody.

Bolling Jr. committed suicide – apparently after suffering from depression and other problems for several years. A truly sad situation that was (as Bolling has stated) entirely coincidental to his departure from Fox News.
Chris Wallace’s Hume’s gay son also committed suicide several years back.

Exactly, I have zero love for Bolling, but I have compassion for anyone who has lost a child in such a horrifying manner. O’Reilly was trying to use the man’s dead child to lambaste NYT for reporting on his disgusting, predatory, rapist behavior. Hiding behind a dead kid. It’s beyond disgusting and Bolling had every right to slap it down. Shoot, I’d say he had a duty to do so.

The son committed suicide. He apparently had a history of depression. Eric Bolling says that his son´s suicide had nothing to do with his problems at Fox. None of us have any reason to doubt that he´s telling the truth. And I hope for his sake he believes it.

I listened to the interview on the podcast this morning while riding the train.
It’s fucking unbelievable that O’Reilly sees himself as a victim. Poor self-deluded scumbag. (What’s with it and these super-powerful men thinking they are victims when they have spent their whole careers victimizing others?)

Actually it was Brett Hume’s son who committed suicide about a decade ago.
There was a good amount of sympathy for him in DC after it happened nor was there O’Reilly like recriminations.

True. But losing $45M to circumvent justice has got to hurt, and no judge could demand that payment. The victims even get a little restitution. I just wish it was more.

Sometimes you think the Murdoch empire is having handed to them what they have emboldened and dished out over the years.
Go back to the infamous dingo case in Australia. It was the Murdoch tabloids who whipped up the masses to the point where the family of the dead child was harassed in front of their residence by a howling mob making dingo noises.
Years later forensics and the legal system determined the dingo really did eat the baby. Yet no retraction or apology from them. Another reason why their empire needs to be scrutinized, not allowed to expand ownership of Sky and broken up under anti trust laws.

I’m pretty sure Bill O’Reilly never much cared about the feelings and welfare of the people he covered and attacked as a “journalist.” Which is his right under the U.S. Constitution, as it is the right of the NYT.

I’m guessing they’re the same kids O’Reilly calls liars (via Wikipedia):
… O’Reilly’s daughter testified to a forensic examiner that she witnessed O’Reilly choking McPhilmy [her mother] and dragging her down the stairs of their home by her neck, apparently unaware that the daughter was watching. In light of the allegation, O’Reilly issued a statement through his attorney describing the account as “100% false” and declined to comment further in order “to respect the court-mandated confidentiality put in place to protect [his] children”. In February 2016, O’Reilly lost a bid for custody of both of his children.

But what boggles the mind is O’Reilly being offered another contract with Fixed News . . .
It’s all about the ratings and keeping the Lie Factor for an insane potus insured. This is where we are.

Trump and O’Reilly must have been separated at birth. Both arrogant and wealthy, they accept no responsibility for their actions, and blame the liberal media for witch hunts. Then they use coworkers dead sons to defend themselves.
I am not one to defend Bolling, but he has more balls and dignity than Gen. Kelly.
