Discussion: EPA To Loosen Rules For Automobile Gas Mileage, Pollution

California says: bring it on, assholes-we will fucking crush you!

I heard stats about the people who showed up the marches last week. The majority of participants were middle aged educated women— the same who marched in January 2017 and January 2018. The Resistance is strong and dedicated and will get the job done.

That stands to reason.

The Republican jet set and their billionaire donors won’t be living in pollution. They’ve got their nice little dachas all picked out. Pollution is for the genetically inferior.

As others have noted, car companies know both that any relaxation of rules won’t last long, and that making cars cheaper to operate is a selling point. Another point: people are not very consistent. I spend time in a fairly rural pro-Trump area of my state from time to time. This weekend I saw a Prius with a Trump Triumph bumper sticker on it.

We are very quickly moving toward a tipping point of electric/hybrid vs gasoline vehicles. Just wait until the Tesla 3 and new Nissan Leaf really get rolling. The car companies that have bet wrong are counting on Pruitt and company to give them a few years to get in the game…
