After he jumped bail in the UK. He still will have the bail jumping charge whenever he leaves the embassy.

Heās not actually charged with rape. Thatās why theyāre interviewing him. Itās to determine if there is sufficient evidence to charge him. He is, however, a shitweasel.
Apparently Ecuador is no longer in the business of trying to anger the next President of the U.S. by housing this douche. Iām not sure if he thought his ticket was going to be lifelong, but eventually Ecuador would cave.

My understanding is that heās always been willing to be interviewed in the embassy, either in person or via video conference, but Swedish law didnāt permit it. If his fear is extradition to the united states, and it should be, he should worry that the UK is going to pick him up for a violation as soon as he steps out the door. Frankly, if the reason the Equadorians sheltered him was that they agreed that he might be unlawfully returned to the US, they should continue to keep him there. Thereās no doubt that if Sweden would agree to extradite him, that the UK would too.
At this point though, the political pressure on Ecuador will become immense. The release of documents doing things like listing all the female Turkish voters along with their addresses is going to get him kicked out. Heās going to wear out his welcome with stunts like this. Iām not sure if embassy life is driving him crazy, but heās going off the deep end. Iām not surprised by it.
At some point Ecuadorās motivation is going to end and heāll have no one else to blame.

Yep, it would have been. My point is that itās not the rape charge keeping him in there. Had he been convicted of that way back when, he would probably be about out by now. His fears are in being snatched to the United States and slapped in a cell next to Chelsey Manning for the next 30 years.

Itās weird seeing people trying to justify Assange strictly because of his meritorious actions in releasing documents relating to US misdeeds. The release of information about illegal US actions is meritorious. Assange himself is a misanthropic jackass. Manning is much more a hero to me than Assange. Assange just provided a platform, Manning took the actual risk.

Iām confused and definitely out of the āAssangeā loop, in fact I had forgotten he even existed until this week. I do recall most of the history around him now, but it seems things have gotten thicker in the last couple of weeks with the Stone connection and the Russian hacking claims. It seems that he is a foreign agent and if he is connected in any way with the Trump campaign, isnāt that just as dangerous, treasonous, scandalous whatever the hyperbolic word of the day is and basically a conspiring with a foreign country/agent to influence the campaign. Is the FBI investigating, of the DOJ or whoever has jurisdiction? Is that even an issue? I donāt really know, but do worry that whatever crap he has and promises to dump in October will impact our election significantly.
It seems the email issue is out of proportion for Clinton when previous SoS also used private servers and other government officials supposedly did too. How many private servers are in use now, by officials and even Congress? I realized that with a GOP force it wonāt look at itself but is there no truly objective agency that can investigate and is there no truly objective source that can throw this nothing burger into the punch bowl with the rest of the turds?
I find the existence of āunnamed sourcesā in the government much more dangerous for leaks and subversive activity than emails that are cherry picked out of context.
My head is spinning trying to figure out what is good and what is bad right now. Is it possible to know too much about what is going on in campaign?
