So…is he moving to Ecuador now?
“Ecuador has granted citizenship to WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange.”
The only thing anyone should be granting to this Kremlin rat is the request for a final cigarette and a blindfold.
Gee, I was thinking of moving to Cuenca, Ecuador when I finally retire all the way. That’s definitely off the table now. I guess it’s Boquete, Panama after all.
That means Assange is able to move about freely. Along with everyone else in public.
[Will Rohrabacher beat a hasty path to his door now?]
Um, wait why does he need Ecuadoran citizenship if the U.S. is “extracting” him to Switzerland to meet with Trump at Davos?

Wonder who was paid off and how much they got to make this happen??
I am assuming from the emphasis on “this” in “this Kremlin rat” that there are many other Kremlin rats as well.
WTF Ecuador?
No. He’s wanted by the British for jumping bail and they are relentless. He’ll get no break. He’s an unpopular figure in Equador. The people feel he’s using them and they want him out of that Embassy. But he’s one lucky asshole. Had Clinton won the election he’d already have been booted. Trump offers Equador nothing so they have no reason to accommodate him. Assange is safe for 3 more years in that Embassy but most people think Equador will move a bit to the right ( not the left as Correa had predicted ) and the first thing a right-leaning president is going to do is boot, Assange. For now he’s trapped. Neither Sweeden or the USA are his problem. It’s the UK and that’s where he’ll be 1 foot off the premises of that Embassy. Currently it’s guarded 24/7 by the British Police and they’ve told Equdoir to fuck off when the country has protested the police presence.
No, it does not. The citizenship was granted long ago and it affords him no protection. The British want him for jumping bail and they’ve made it clear they’re in time going to have him. He can’t set foot out of that embassy without arrest and jail.
I was being a little too subtle there. That is what I meant by “everyone else in public”. It is sort of like the movies when they take that prisoner in isolation for his own safety and dump him into the general population.
Nice ring to “Señor Julio Assange”
Well, I´m gonna go and have an unpopular opinion: I think Wikileaks, in general, is doing a public service. I thought is was important to find out, say, that the US was engaged in a secret war in Yemen, or the US military killed journalists in Iraq. And as far as I know, everything published by Wikileaks has turned out to be true, unlike, say, many statements by the heads of our intelligence services - anybody here remember the selling of the Iraq War?
And while I´m at it, here´s to Edward Snowden, and Chelsea Manning as well. If we didn´t have a government that lies to us regularly, their services wouldn´t be needed. But we do have such a government.
Flame away
Wikileaks is a Russian intelligence asset.
As I recall, various people at the DNC said that the leaked emails were possible fakes, put there by the Ruskies. That, of course, turned out to be untrue. But why engage with the actual information that is leaked when you can just smear the leaker?
Right. Except for all those Russian-doctored documents they released from the DNC hack… funny how it’s only U.S. stuff that gets leaked, never anything from the Russians, Chinese or others. What may have once been an honest (if you can call it that) broker has been completely soiled & compromised by Putin – and it wouldn’t surprise me that the Kremlin has been playing the long game and using Wikileaks from the very beginning.
I’m not spending the day in this argument again but when the emails came out all you Bernie people only wanted to talk about what was in them - not where they came from or how they got public. The only thing that actually mattered was their source because it was Russian trolls.
Wikileaks is a Russian Intelligence Asset and so is Assange and I don’t trust Glenn Greenwald as far as I can throw him and Snowden can freeze his nuts off in Moscow forever.
Are you sure about that? They didn’t say all of them were fakes, so if any of them are, the statement is correct. This is actually how disinformation works: some things are true, others are false, and some are unprovable/neither.
Really?
