Great news but the Dems need to do more to highlight these facts. I’ve no doubt the recent focus by the Pubs on foreign policy is primarily to distract the public from this good news and gay marriage and the ACA surviving right wing attacks and the opening of embassies with Cuba. Next, the Pubs will complain about our policy of not colonizing the moon! Anything to distract from the President’s real accomplishments.

“while the unemployment rate rose to 5.3 percent”
Might want to correct “rose” to “dropped” to match the headline and the BLS report.

Not great news but good. Some wage growth would have been nice. Overall though pretty much the steady-as-it-goes we’ve been seeing.

Yet more gloomy news for the Republican party. Rush’s task for the day is to spin this so that the credit goes to the Republicans. I’m guessing something along the lines of “Now that the senate has a Republican majority…” blah, blah, blah, blah, or something equally idiotic.

“Those damn Gays!”

Says any Republican, to try and change the subject.

It is amazing the economic progress we’ve made from the end of Dubya’ Bush’s FUBAR Reign of Terror and near worldwide economic meltdown to today! And it was ALL with NO help from the Republican. In fact they worked tirelessly to stifle and hinder any economic progress in particular for fear the President would get the credit he was due. Had it not been for their total lack of cooperation and stonewalling, we would have been in even better shape.

President Obama the, BEST PRESIDENT EVER!!

His legacy and history will be kind! The list of his accomplishments is very long indeed!

And all without help, but complete hinderance of the gop/bags.

This is to the Indiana woman who had a nervous breakdown, yelling and praying: Cover your boobies up, lady!

“HRC will win if the economy doesn’t tank” has become my mantra, so between this good news, Obama’s rising popularity, HRC’s consistent popularity (and her opposition all being members of the lunatic party) and prodigious fundraising, we’re on a roll.

TPM has serious problems, and I say this seriously, with whoever writes the headline. A headline should encapsulate the story and in this case a short one but even that’s too big a job.

The headlines are indeed usually not good and “click bait” a lot, but in this case the headline was accurate, the article text was not.

And if FOX had done the same thing (say the unemployment rate had risen to 5.3%), we’d be saying it was intentional. Oh, sometimes it is, but sometimes people just screw up too.

Looking quickly at the source article, I see they use employment increases, unemployment declined, and that is how it should be. Persnickety editors unite!
