In normal times this would be devastating. But Trump has no shame, and his cultists don’t care either. There was this Vietnam vet with MIA/POW bumper stickers in car saying that regarding Trump it doesn’t matter what happened back then, It matters now. I am sure he gave the same benefit to Bill Clinton or John Kerry.

If he was so opposed to the war -not a fan- why didn’t he join the marches and protests against it? BTW Trumpo, in 1968 we all knew where Vietnam was. Most of us had a family member over there or knew someone from the neighborhood who was there or classmates that ended up there. Many of us know people who died in Vietnam or have family members who died there. Don’t even at this late date make excuses for your own cowardice and then proclaim at the end of the interview you would’ve been honored to serve in the military. You didn’t serve and went to great lengths to not serve. I hate this man with every fiber of my being.

You can rest assured that like many outer boroughs residents during Vietnam the Trump family was quite supportive of the war. They were certaintly more than ok with having working class kids from other neighborhoods bear the burden, a few miles away in Woodside and Sunnyside having the highest casualty rate of any zip code. Also considering they were in the construction industry they must have cheered on the May 1970 hardhat riots just a couple of weeks after Kent state.

Trump told “Good Morning Britain” host Piers Morgan on Wednesday that he “was never a fan” of the Vietnam War when Morgan asked if he wished he had served.
Vietnam was not some reality shit show with you as host cadet bone spurs. I and many others volunteered to serve but most were drafted. I knew of many who used their daddys connections to gain deferments and I detest them still. Others fled to Canada when their conscientious objector status was denied, I am ok with them.
