Discussion for article #246797
The best social program has always been a job â
and taking care of our economy will go a long way
towards reducing our dependence on public health programs.
Jeebus. Superficiality as substance.
Considering everything else Trump spouts is at a 10th-grade level?
His âhealthcare proposalâ as written will appeal to those who support him.

A rehash of already rehashed GOP talking points. Not a plan at all, really.
Thin gruel. But, in The Donaldâs defense, itâs more detailed than anything out of Congressional GOP. Also, snake bellies remain slightly above dirtâŚ
And we must also take actions in other policy areas to lower healthcare costs and burdens. ... eliminating fraud and waste
Well, there goes the Rick Scott endorsement.
Yep. This has been floating around in the Rethug ether for years now. Congress wonât touch it.
Itâs the same fucking plan the GOTea has been circulating for 8 years!
âtort reformâ
âselling insurance across state linesâ
âstreamlining regulationâ
âlowering wasteâ
âCROCK OF SHIT!â
Hereâs the issue they never discuss: insurance is regulated at the state level. Insurance companies are regulated in the state they are incorporated in terms of business function. Policies are managed by the state in which they are offered. How in Godâs name would states even start to figure out how insurance across state lines would work? It would literally be a race to the bottom. The ACA would have somewhat of a basic floor for benefits, but the state with the least amount of regulatory control over insurance would become home to all the companies.
No halfway knowledgeable adult could take this at all seriously. The trouble is most Americans arenât halfway knowledgeable when it comes to insurance, or investing, or spending policy or much else. They donât know the trends in immigration or crime, they canât assess their actual risk from terrorism versus climate change, they just donât know this stuff. I seriously wonder if this society is still capable of self-government, I really do.
Congress will need the courage to step away from the special interests and do what is right for America.
This makes perfect sense, if by âspecial interests,â you mean the American people, and if by âwhat is right for America,â you mean giving drug and insurance companies everything theyâve ever lobbied for.
Did he also include capping malpractice suits? Because that is usually one of the number one things Republicans push as a priority for saving money.
Oddly I havenât seen that insurance rates decreased in stateâs that already capped malpracticeâŚ
It looks like people with preexisting conditions are screwed under Trumpâs plan.
Reads like college kid wrote it.
Iâm alive thanks to Obamacare. Bottom line from Trumpâhe wants me and millions of others benefitting from Obamacare to die.
Fuck You, Trump!
Sadly, our very serious MSM will treat this as a game-changing event, Trump finally making substantive proposals, a critical milestone that marks his transition to Very Serious Person as he Moves to the Middle for the General.
Want to know what happens when Medicaid becomes a block grant? Look no further than KansASS where Brownback diverted health care funds to reduce the Laffer Hole in his budget!
The same thing that happens when ANY program becomes a block grant â it gets raided.
Iâm sure Morning Ho and Meek-Uh are already doubling down on their mandatory Trump ass kissing with this yuuuuuuuuugggggeeee announcement!
âwebsites that donât workâ Seriously, you list the (supposedly) terrible problems created by the ACA and this is one of them?
They did follow up from 2 weeks ago and asked about his foreign policy team that he said heâd announce last week. Of course, he deflected that!
