More generally, a kind of Truth and Reconciliation Commission will at some point be required in the USA in general, to try to address the fissure in the country and the effects of the neofascism of the GOP.

While they’re in town, I hope someone asks why the DOJ has done nothing about Trump’s nationwide band of thugs who intimidate his critics by doxxing them, then hounding them with theats to kill them, rape them, burn down their home, and torture their children. Leave dead animals on their doorstep, deface their property, and in multiple other ways operate as a terrorist organization on behalf of the administration.

That would be the DoJ now run by a KKK sympathizer … that’ll go well, don’t you think?

‹snark›It’s been confirmed that Sessions is covering the meeting. He has to be in Virginia anyway to decide where the GOP is going to put his statue ‹/snark ›

[/quote]He’s also changing the theme of the meeting to “Heritage Recovery Town Hall” and adjusting the agenda as appropriate.

Good news. I’ve been heartbroken at my neighbor’s suffering. He’s a Recovering Slave-aholic–addicted to cheap labor. Very common among CEOs.

Given that they currently control the Presidency and both houses of Congress, and are poised to shape the Supreme Court for another generation, I’d have to reluctantly conclude it’s not working out too bad for them at the moment. But I’m hopeful that in the long term it will still backfire on them.

The city had planned Thursday evening to host what it calls a “community recovery town hall,” in collaboration with the Community Relations Services of the Department of Justice. But Charlottesville officials said the event has been rescheduled for Sunday afternoon due to conflicts with a local high school’s student activities.

Just to be clear on this, the DOJ was more concerned how the performance of their duties conflicted with children’s activities than they were with how their duties affected the administration of justice. The DOJ does have its priorities. First things first.
