Fairness would dictate she sleep on cold concrete with a mylar sheet and a bag of chips for her evening meal.
Now this image I found out was staged a bit but it does get the point across…
Ordinarily, I’m willing to give Secretaries plenty of leeway for their testimony, even though it’s under oath. But not for Nielsen. No way. Time for perjury charges.
Kids had already been sold to work as domestics, slaves. Can’t ask those “good people” to return them, that would be so unfair. Good cheap help is hard to find.
I guess she lives in a cocoon. She must have ignored the cases brought to stop the separations, not read a newspaper on the topic, never watched tv news when the criticism was at its most intense, and never been told by staff about any of the orders issued to end the process. And i’d bet she didn’t ‘know’ about the deaths in custody or the sexual assaults or the appalling conditions. What a disgusting duplicitous piece of work she is.
A closed mind, a refusal to entertain information that doesn’t support your beliefs, and an inability to think independently or learn enables you to lie with ease. Those are hallmark requirements for Trump’s team of immoral idiots.
Within hours of Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen telling members of Congress that, “to the best of my knowledge,” no parent who was separated from their child at the U.S.-Mexico border was deported without being given the option of being reunited with them first
The Secretary here is using the word “knowledge” in the sense of “willful, intentional, carefully maintained ignorance”.
In a way she’s stuck in a resignation trap. If she resigns she’s acknowleging the horror of what she did. Plus her successor might be a little too cooperative with investigations.
Depends on what “to the best of my knowledge…” means. To the best of her knowledge the sky is orange, like her boss. Cut her some slack, maybe she has no short (and long) term memory. Maybe she has multiple disabilities, or can’t read, or the trauma of having trump’s mushroom in her mouth causes blackouts.
Children held by the US Government are now housed in tents or are in privately run for profit facilities like Southwest Key. But that is not any better in my view. Nothing replaces a father or mother. Sure as hell it isn’t a goddamned mylar sheet or a bag of chips.
I believe the present difficulty the government is having in reuniting families… is absolutely deliberate. If we can land a man on the Moon and do it a half dozen times,…if we could plan to land 156,000 troops in Normandy, France…75 years ago … we ought to be able to reunite kids with parents no matter where in the world any of them are now.
Whoever it was who mandated that these children ought to end up lost in the federal system…that person or set of people ought to be flogged and set in stocks so we can chuck rotten tomatoes, melons or heavy rocks at them. Kinda medieval I admit but sometimes the punishment ought to fit the crime.
Now, hey, hey – this is a classy publication, not some sleazy Trump hotel massage menu. If you need to discuss a male appendage, consider as an example Channing Tatum, Jensen Ackles or Chance Perdomo as your subject. Just saying … you know because you just never know when a good human being is taking a bite to eat while reading these comments. We don’t need to induce nausea.
