It occurs to me that staying off Dotard’s radar is not only smart but ensures you might actually get to finish your investigation.
So Godzilla trashes the living fuck out of Tokyo. In comes Mothra who seems hellbent on taking out Kyoto. Godzilla says hey - you don’t get to fuck with Japan, only I get to do that, and then proceeds to wipe up the ground with Mothra.
In this recounting of the tale of our times, the part of the FBI is played by Godzilla, and Russia is portrayed by Mothra.
We’ll deal with the Godzilla problem soon enough. Let’s deal with Mothra today.
Sorry, didn’t mean to apparently be somehow obtuse:
The “problem” to which I refer is that you and ken seem to think that there is a long history of problems with the FBI, but offer no plausible “solution” as to how to fix it. The idealism and purity to which I refer is the concept that just because something is bad, or not the way someone thinks it should be, that it should and must be immediately changed, even if it ignores the actual reality of the situation.
Why not?
I’ll ask again: what do you infer from it?
Cute — but looking at history, “soon enough” appears to be “never”!
So, this is very similar to Comey’s 2016 statements about the Clinton email investigation vs. no statement about an investigation into Russian interference into the election, in order to “protect the integrity” of the FBI.
OIG conclusion: the Clinton email investigation and decision to not bring charges was not based on or influenced by politics or bias (but some of the FBI people involved were sure doing things sloppily and saying negative things privately to each other about Trump). However, we will say nothing about whether or not there were any leaks by the FBI to hurt Clinton or any private communications between agents that showed a negative bias against Clinton - because, to do so would be biased against Trump.
ETA: We won’t even say if we’re investigating it or not.
Makes perfect sense now … just like it did back then.
If the FBI NYFO takes it in the shorts due to their interference in the election then I say reform is coming. Let’s see what happens. Remember, ETTD.
Or is he just afraid of ending up like Serpico?
"He asked for assurances that there were no on-going leaks to either Giuliani or Nunes, which of course allowed Wray to completely ignore the whole issue. "
Jesus Christ on a stick. Do the Dems know nothing but how to fail?
DOJ Inspector General Won’t Say If He’s Probing FBI Anti-Clinton Leaks To Rudy’’
We all knew, not only that the IG was investigating Wray and Comey, but also when the report was due. To suggest that he can’t confirm or deny the existence of an ongoing IG investigation is pure hogwash.
Is “pure hogwash” an oxymoron?
As opposed to somewhat in the nature of hogwash.
But they will say that they are investigating the leak of part of the content of Comey’s memos to the media.
Because … that’s totally different because it further impugns Comey and helps Trump discredit the Mueller investigation?
Would someone please ask why there’s a difference in what confirming investigatory areas they are or are not covering?
“Later in the hearing, Wray also said he was “unaware” of an ongoing leaks from the FBI to Giuliani or to members of Congress and the media.”
Stupidest shit EVER. Someone should slap Blumenthal in the fucking mouth.
Reports a month ago had sources saying that the leaks to Giuliani would be covered in the report. What happened since then? Who got to Horowitz and/or Wray? This whole thing stinks to high heaven.
No. He is not the Bureau. When he was head of the FBI he had a well-deserved reputation for doing his job well and fairly. He’s spent a lifetime doing admirable things in service to our country. He continues to do so. The FBI as an organization can be used for good or for not-so-good, depending on the administration in charge. We should strive to insist that it not be politicized, but it often seems to be. That doesn’t mean there aren’t some really good and decent people in it, while there are also some people who should not be allowed the police power they so readily abuse. Pretty much like most law enforcement offices.
Mueller isn’t in the FBI any more, and the fact that he honorably served in it when he was there should be noted.
If Dems knew how to play this game they would be all over the networks demaing the immediate imprisonment of Guilliani for accepting and publicizing stolen sensitive data about the Weiner laptop.
As is the corporate media’s.
Hoover’s stench never leaves.
Yep. And they know who takes care if them.
Tax giveaways, gutting Net Neutrality, never ending sensational nonsense which provides reality show type drama over substance.
And the MSM may just get a war out if the deal… a Sweet, sweet Pulitzer prize generating war.
Why wouldn’t they have the Republican Party’s back?
