Discussion: DOJ Expected To Release Public Version Of Mueller Report On Thursday

Right now, Barr is very central to this drama. He is going up against a very large number of people.

I know what he did for Poppy Bush. He wants to do the same thing here. Because of the scale, I think Barr will fail. Sometimes difference in scale is everything.

It’s why Trump thought that stiffing contractors and charging for parking four times the amount of competitors in the NJ casino racket was the same thing as being POTUS.

It’s fun to be cynical about Barr and the punk has it coming. But if you zoom out he’s got to be careful not to provoke the unredacted version being leaked. He can’t just gut the thing willy-nilly. Everyone who had access to the report also knows a bit about how to cover his or her tracks, wouldn’t you say? And it seems clear what’s left in isn’t going to be a fun read for the White House. Barr already said in his own letter that the report did not exonerate Trump. So I’m expecting, if not fireworks, a lot of fun dirt.

Congress should act rather than react. The relevant house committees should start calling witnesses and doing their own investigations rather than wait to be told what they are entitled to know by an AG who was brought in specifically to protect the president from embarrassing revelations. I do not understand why, when Barr said in Congressional hearings last week, “I am not going to get into whether the president has been briefed on Mueller’s report”, the senators and house members did not immediately demand, “On what legal basis are you refusing to answer my questions?” Since there was no legal basis to refuse to answer those questions, contempt of Congress should have been the next stop. It is time to step up and fight and not to continue to abide this flagrant obstruction by the Administration.

Oh, I’m still holding out for the I-told-you-so moment, wherein he drops way more than he promised Trump, and totally cuts the guy off at the knees after having been so reassuring to him the whole way.

V-e-r-y long shot, but a boy can dream!

If stuff comes out in dribs and drabs, it’ll be like the steady release of e-mails by Wikileaks – always on the front page.

Redaction will make this a lot easier on everyone.

I understand they will release one page on Thursday, and the other page on Friday.

So… easy weekend.

Hey, there’s still that missing link of why Barr would take this on, just to hold water for Trump. Just because he’s a pompous asshole doesn’t outweigh the numerous reasons why he’d have stayed on the sidelines, happily retired.

We’ll know if there’s a sliver of hope there on Thursday.

ETA: Regarding the aliens, they’re malevolent and generally assholes, and they already installed their orange dude in the WH. Trump Tower in NYC is just a concealed rocket.

Barr: “In place of tonight’s promised presentation of ‘Muellerdämmerung’, the Trump Playhouse will, instead, present a brief, all-mime production of ‘Fantasia’.”

Whoever came up with the graphic TPM used for this article gets my chuckle-of-the-day award.
Mueller, all aglow, wide eyed and in total wonder of what the heck is happening to his report?.
Still chuckling.

Be prepared to be disappointed. Bob Mueller is not going to save us.

Step 1 - Obtain Barr’s redacted report.
Step 2 - Duplicate redactions with sloppy technique used by Manafort’s lawyers.
Step 3 - Introduce new version into the mix.
Step 4 - Sit back and enjoy.

The GOP coverup will continue.

We should call it the Barr Report. It’s not the Mueller Report, that’s been censored.

Well that’s, like, your opinion, man. Why would they build us those granaries in Egypt if they were so malevolent? You need to be better at logic.
