“These eleventh-hour allegations by the plaintiffs, including an accusation of dishonesty against a senior Department of Justice official, are false,” a Justice Department spokesperson said in the statement, which was issued more than 12 hours after the allegations were made public in court filings.
We have no proof , but we work for Trump and the Republicans now so we don’t need proof .
It’s how things work now
This will be dutifuly repeated by Faux News and The conservative entertainment complex and it will be reported by the MSM as
Democrats say , while Republicans disagree .
Now watch this heartwarming story of a Military Dad/Mom surprising their kids . Aaaawwww

Fortunately this story has been on all the local news stations so the SC will have a hard time ignoring it and still seen legitimate in most peoples eyes

The Justice Department said Thursday that the assertions of new, damning evidence in the census citizenship case were “false” in a fiery statement that nonetheless did not specifically dispute core claims in the latest allegations.

Marginal Note in draft statement: “Weak position here, emphasize non sequiturs and shout louder!”

“any inference that I would advocate actions that would harm the interests of the Latino community is wrong and offensive to me.”

However, any inference that I would advocate actions that would assure the election of GOP candidates is irrefutable. Any resulting harm to the interests of the Latino community is simply collateral damage.

It’s sad that it’s become routine to understand that any denial from this administration is in fact an admission of guilt.

" after his estranged daughter found his hard drives" Do the Republican faithful ever look at them selves and wonder why their family wants nothing to do with them?

Wow. I never anticipated that they would deny it. I figured that they would say “You caught us! Now every one of us, from the President on down, will resign in disgrace.”
Fortunately, I didn’t bet the farm on it.

Another case of immaculate reception: White House officials explaining that they have no idea how documents prepared by outsiders (voting rights “experts,” regulated industry lawyers, lists of requests to the WH from interested donors), got into the hands of those drafting WH policies and the statements “supporting” them. Any identical language is purely coincidental.

DoJ denied it but did not dispute the core claims. Got it. Seems to be a lot of that lately going on there. They’re hoping that time has run out on this case that is currently before SCOTUS (ruling comes sometime in June), and believing they will probably rule in their favor. I guess if you can’t dispute it though, denying it really doesn’t make much sense unless you already know the fix is in. They have no argument to make since the smoking gun was just that. Denial is likely the best they can do as usual. So tRumpian. Such ongoing deceit.

Gore did not disclose that he had received the draft from Neuman until well after a trial court had already decided the case. He admitted it in a closed door interview with Congress. However, Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross quickly cast doubt on the claim, telling lawmakers in public testimony that Gore only “thought” it “might” have happened and that Neuman had denied passing the draft in his trial deposition.

So Gore, DoJ, was tasked with coming up for a reason to add the citizenship question on the census. Neuman, who is not DoJ had Hofeller’s study and passed Hofeller’s work to Gore as his own. And then we have dotard Ross muddying all the waters because his one job that it relates to the Commerce Dept. and the census is to get more Republicans elected to Congress.
Now that we are all caught up what do you think will happen in next exciting episode of the long running soap opera of “The Old and the Ruthless Republicans F*cking Up Everything They Can Get Their Dirty Mitts On.”

Sad day in America when the DOJ lies. Aren’t they supposed to be the honest player?

What’s that saying again? To hide a lie, a thousand lies are needed.

Regarding Gore:

The Justice Department said Thursday that the assertions of new, damning evidence in the census citizenship case were “false” in a fiery statement that nonetheless did not specifically dispute core claims in the latest allegations.

and…from Neuman:

The statement did not directly dispute the challengers’ allegation that Hofeller provided the key paragraph in Neuman’s draft.

This is our new normal - all officials and folks caught doing things they shouldn’t be doing - act like Trump. Loud Blustery deflection denial, with never addressing/disputing the facts and allegations.

What!? They did not come clean and admit that they lied? I am shocked, shocked I say!

“DOJ denies claim . . .” In this case denies translates to lies. DOJ lies about claim that a top official lied.

The Department of Justice is a corrupt sleazy swamp. We have two consecutive Attorneys-General who have lied under oath to Congress and not tried for perjury. The Department even lies about its lying.

seems that it is now a contest to muddy the water to the point where it is unclear as to what the lie was … and heave the issue across the finish line - clearly flawed - but muddled to the point that the 5 conservatives on the SC have enough cover to let it slide

Certain members of this SC have become a like electors in the Electoral College - not scrutinizing the facts and legal principle - but simply robotically doing the bidding of those that put them there
