You’re assuming that she had any idea escape was a possibility. If law enforcement’s response to the discovery of an abused child having sex with a sibling is “hey, don’t do that again” you might forgive the abused child for thinking no one is going to help her.
And although these kids clearly need a huge amount of help there’s also a strong possibility that they will never be OK.
I think they should charge the parents with manslaughter and get the kids the help they need. These kids shouldn’t have been left alone overnight. The daughter was abused in more ways then one. What a sad situation.
