Discussion for article #247049
One would hope they are investigating it.
The curse of political correctness has certainly run amok if you’re not allowed to bodyslam a journalist at a political rally.
when the critique comes out will points be awarded or deducted for technique? was the reporter let up when he tapped out?
on a more serious note I gotta say that while I understand providing protection for candidates I have a real problem when the protection agency I pay for starts acting as a personal SS for any candidate…
the idea of putting reporters in a pen and making the SS enforce it in an open to the public meeting is anathema… if Donnie Dimwit wants to have a private, pay to get into, only for supporters meeting then he can damned well pay for security and keep reporters out… but an ‘open’ ‘newsworthy’ public meeting should not keep the press out or confined…
Once Trump is elected getting body slammed will be the best you can hope for. Getting disappeared is the next phase. Donald “Pinochet” Trump is eager to serve you.
I’d like to know who’s investigating this. A young black woman is manhandled, shoved, racial slurs were screamed at her, and it can’t be allowed to happen again.
I have to agree. Policing reporters staying in the pen is a massive mission creep from protecting the candidate. Its way over the line, and quite possibly now opens up constitutional issues. Trump hiring private security for his own events and restricting pres access is one thing (and a questionable one, but for other reasons), but using Federal agents to stop the press from recording events happening at a political rally…that moves things into another arena.
Good-the Secret Service are NOT tRump’s hired thugs!
working to “determine the exact circumstances that led up to this incident."
Well, it basically pretty much started with drumpf riding down an elevator …
Technically…an escalator…
I guess that’s why the violence is…escalating?
No cash bonus for our WWE wannabe but maybe one of these
The Secret Service has launched its own investigation into the episode
and released a statement saying it was working to
“determine the exact circumstances that led up to this incident."
Shy any sudden/threatening movements by the photographer prior to being bodyslammed?
There aren’t many extenuating ‘exact’ circumstances that are relevant.
Punk the agent-- the way he punked a civilian-- but with an administrative bodyslam.

I believe W pioneered the “free speech pens” that The Donald Drumpf employs. The difference is that W used them for opponents. Herr Drumpf has employed them for the press.
In a statement published just after this incident was reported on the news, the Secret Service denied this was a secret service agent who committed this violence against the photographer. I don’t have the link to that article. Maybe someone else reading this will have that link to the article.
No, I think this started when Daddy Trump gave his son a lot of money and no moral advice on how to live a good life.
That the secret service would enforce Drumpfs press pen makes this a government action, which given the unreasonableness of the press pen in the first place, makes the interference with the journalist a violation of the First Amendment. The journalist has a viable legal theory if he wants to sue the government.
When officers policing Trump rallies are also Trump supporters, there is a problem. Not saying that’s what happened here, but Trump supporters and sympathizers should be weeded out of his secret service detail.
That’s when it started, but the Secret Service didn’t turn violent until they thought the reporter was going to take one of their 2-for-1 Happy Ending Massage Parlor coupons.
LOL. Posting before coffee leads to egregious errors.
