If a dead pimp can win in Nevada, I reckon a racist Mary Kay saleswoman can win in Mississippi.
Fine. It will be yet another sht stain on the state that is ranked lower in almost everything. Someday, Mississippi. Someday.
Espy may give Hyde-Smith a little heartburn, but racism is genetic in Mississippians. Trump last night was there to reinforce Mississippians racism.
Ignorance is popular in Mississippi.
Ignorance is well known, and taught in most schools, both public and confederate.
Ya beat us to it.
Ignorance is popular everywhere. Donāt kid yourself that it isnāt.
Voted at 7:02 this morning, decent turn-out, Espy calls were lighting up the phone lines last night. Still a steep uphill battle.
For those of us down here, if she does win, weāll continue the fight to register more voters, educate the populace, and do everything we can to move the needle towards a more progressive state.
Probably an ancestor of hers was mustered out of the Confederate Army.
It is well past time for businesses and ANY individuals with influence to make sure that holding racist views hurts the holder at least as much as the racist views are supposed to hurt the targets of that racism.
Well the fact that āhangā appears (apparently unironically) in the headline suggests that our friendly journalists/headline writers do not always pay as close attention to language as one might hope.
I think this is more of a win for Dems, in the big picture. Repubs cementing their image as the party of racists when they already had the Senate majority? Not a promising look for 2020. Sheās an Albatross and Trump just tied her around the proverbial Republican neck just for the sugar high of a win.
Only in the American South.
Have you been to rural Michigan or Missouri?
Exactly right. Itās because of the raciest stuff she said that she will win. There arenāt enough good people in Mississippi to defeat her.
ā¦or Oregon
Gee, an American Gaza strip.
He would need to do something like tell the truth and call her a racist white bitch, so the collective press could clutch their pearls and faint on the couch
Several have complained, rightly, about ādespiteā but Iām here to complain about ācontroversial.ā I mean, was it? Surely ā[racially] provocativeā is more apt. You can do better, I know you can.
I thought the Jackson Free Press really bombed the story by reporting her seg academy attendance without discussing systemic racism, which came off as them blaming her for a choice her parents made. The comments on the story mostly focused on that. Had they taken a paragraph to explain systemic racism and how she is a product of it, unable even to understand how bad she is, it would have made a lot more sense and could well have tipped the scales.
Good luck. I hope they are able to change, if not now at least going forward. Itās frightening the amount of racism that still exists and is seen as normal in the south.
