Maybe they will threaten to sue them unless they vote for Sanders.
I saw this comment about this interview on another site last night: I don’t smoke but I wish I had what Weaver is smoking.
This is an absolute outrage. No nominee in the 40 years of this process has won a contested nomination without super delegates, and to suggest that a candidate must win enough pledged delegates to match half of all delegates is unreasonable.
What Sanders is trying to do is deligitimize Clinton’s win, and to make his people think she won solely because of super delegates and not popular support. This is patently untrue, and an outrageous strategy.
She won 300K more votes than Sanders yesterday, has about 2.2M more votes though the whole process, and has a 275 pledged delegate lead. She is winning, and will win, by a better margin than Obama in 2008.
A majority of all pledged delegates starts at 2026, and if either candidate gets there and has general support the other should get out.
We all know how much Sanders disdains the Democratic Party.
So why wouldn’t he and his fans do everything to harm the party in a year when Democrats should be able to take the White House AND the Senate AND make inroads in the House AND make big gains in a lot of state?
Bernie Sanders, wasting his donors’ money…sad to see.
Delusional.
The indicators point to Clinton winning in PA and MD by larger margins next week than NY. Only two big-delegate states remain after that (CA, NJ). Maybe they’ll acknowledge reality then.
And they’re both going to go big for Hillary.
Oh noes, there’s politics going on here! I’m enjoying the heck out of this primary season, and polls say Democratic voters are energized by it too.
Even if NJ and CA went half-and-half, Sanders still loses big-time. Since he has decided to continue on, how he frames any criticisms of HRC from here out will be telling as to whether he can be a team player in the future.
This is what I’ve been fearing for months - Bernie will try to burn down the Democratic party before he’s done and he’s surrounded himself with “advisors” who are keeping him in a bubble of his own dreams, telling him what he wants to believe.
No, Bernie and Jeff, you will NOT win over super delegates! Know why? Because super delegates are super Dems and you, Bernie, are not a Democrat!
I am not suggesting that Bernie get out of the race, I am not suggesting that Bernie supporters give up, what I am suggesting is that they don’t need to destroy HRC in the process. If HRC wins the nom and Bernie doesn’t energetically support her, empower his supporters to get behind her, we all lose in November and for the next 4+ years.
Senator Sanders and his campaign surrogates rail against the Democratic Party establishment. But who would be at the very top of that corrupt establishment? Why, none other than President Barack Obama. Small world.
“We’re going to go to the convention,” Weaver said in response.
Spoken like a man who has many more five-figure checks to draw from a Quixotic endeavor.
Jeff Weaver has grounded Sen Sanders campaign on a sandbar these last 3 weeks.
He’s already been paid for less-than-nothing.
This is unsurprising on Weaver’s part.

I watched both the MSNBC interview and another on CNN: Both guys say they are going all the way! These guys have no interest in helping the Democratic Party: and their “virtue” is their “strength”. I see a negative tone from Bernie. This is not going well.
Boy is THAT raising some hackles around the way…especially since the predictable tirade from the Bernistas about Alperstein’s background started gathering steam.
Because of the current situation with the Supreme Court, the damage caused by a Republican victory in November will be long term.
Sounds like Bernie’s got a grifter or two on his hands.
Equally outrageous is the complete failure of Bernie supporters to understand how nominations are made. It is about delegates, not votes. And super delegates have been part of that. The lack of critical thinking of some Bernie supporters is inexcusable. They just regurgitate what the Bernie campaign wants to them to think and say. Sadly, it is quite similar to the way climate change deniers operate. Similar process.
