Discussion: Despite Leading 2013 Shutdown, Cruz Says I've 'Consistently Opposed' Them

Lying sack…honest to God. ‘Ethics, morals and values’…the GOPpers can’t use THAT particular meme anymore.

Senator Cruz is a First Class – First Rate liar and would be right at home in Dotard’s administration.

Trump gets away with saying vile things about his father and wife. Cruz responds by rolling over on his back, paws in the air, exposing his belly. How are you liking cowardly irrelevance, Ted?

Cruz, you are a shithead.

Have you ever walked up to someone at a party who is holding a lit cigarette in one hand and a big glass of red wine in the other and says, “I don’t really smoke and I don’t really drink.”

Cognitive dissonance fractures the mental ability to locate reality, which fractures thought into a multitude of incoherent, irreconcilable delusions.

It is in this delusional realm where the twitter king reigns. Sad :frowning:

I would rather ted’s ugly puss where slapped around with a dozen of so cudgels, but that’s just me thinking that he deserves something a little more bracing that might have a real impact on the guy, if you get the drift.

grammar cop correction:

Ted Cruz is a lying piece of crap, we all know that’s true. What’s got me curious though…

… is why he’s opining on Nicole Lafond’s consistent position on government shutdowns. Since, you know, the headline only puts ‘Consistently Opposed’ in quotes.

Now, now…let’s split the difference and fill them with wet cement

I am a 50 year’s voting D from San Francisco, and this is not the time to go ballistic against your own party. The last time the extremists went ballistic, Donald Trump was elected President under all odds. The reason that happened is that the extremist Dems stayed home in protest and gave the SCOTUS to Trump. So PICK your goddamn fights. This from a union longshoreman who worked the docks and fought for union rights.

The Republican shut downs of the Clinton and Obama Administrations were predicated on their hatred of Deficits. Their uncompromising refusal to add to the Deficit. Their belief, like Ronald Reagan, in a balanced budget as their Holy Grail.

Except he, and they, as demonstrated with their recent Tax Bill, really have no problems with exploding the Deficit. Nor did Ronald Reagan.

I’m a voting D in San Francisco as well and for 50 years as well. The biggest gripe I have against our party brethren is what you obviously recognize. We go ballistic on a moment’s notice against our party, its leaders and too many of the elected officials. Maybe it’s an effort to be witty or rebellious but in the end it’s nothing but counterproductive and self defeating.

That was one of the many witty, rebellious, signs at a march, can’t tell you which one. So many smart, resistant, gonna see it through to the end women. Damn!

Lying is like breathing with these people and so is contempt for audience; they’ve become used to paying no price for either.

But as awful as the Orange Shitgibbon is I never forget that people like Cruz are worse: the one lies mainly for himself and his spawn, the other lies for himself and fundamentalist theocracy.
