Ironically, Pence is far worse than Trump. Pence is a mincing, lying, hypocritical religious freak whereas Trump is just a stupid, atheist criminal. Trump lies but he doesn’t claim to be doing the bidding of an imaginary man in the sky. Pence is an utter sell-out, totally fake opportunist who’s decided to sacrifice honor, integrity, duty and national security in order to cozy up to a powerful madman. Trump might start a war for his own benefit, based on self-enrichment; Pence will start a war because the voices in his head tell him that god wants white, evangelical, European descendants to kill all the brown people on earth.

Ralph, I swear to you, this is the main reason why I believe that a “WPA 2.0” should be revived and renewed. As far as I’m concerned, there’s decent amount of the country that won’t buy into a GND however, I do believe that the parts of the country that are absolutely hemorrhaging jobs, could be convinced of a new WPA which was not “socialist” nor a “handout”.

Fully agree. GND, and public work projects could still be financed relatively cheaply because interest rates are still low. Should have been done under Obama when rates were almost zero but for Pubbie obstruction. Short sighted fools only interested in power for its own sake.

I was trying to draft a snappy reply to this, but I got nothin’. Faux Christians like Pence and his ilk are sooooooooo morally bankrupt. The phenomenon of loudly and proudly claiming one’s Christian bona fides + the prosperity gospel that is ascendant among Christian conservatives is such an insidious combination. They seem to sincerely believe that Jesus wants them to be rich, and if people aren’t rich it’s because of some moral failure on the part of the poors. As near as I can see, that’s what allows them to treat other humans in such a shitty way while still claiming to be upstanding bible humpers.
