Hard to clarify the truth, jackass.
To be fair, monkeys are well-known all over the world for their socialist views. I once met a rhesus macaque who advocated for universal health care and sang âPower to the Unionâ whenever challenged.
BINGO!
Meanwhile, over on the Wapo comment section a poster warns that a vote for Gillum is a vote âfor a niggardly government.â Itâs rare to find a Republican who labels a Democratic candidate as miserly, penny pinching and illiberal.
My question: Is it really a dog whistle if all of us non-dogs can hear it?
FIFY
The one useful thing that jackass has left to us.
That does not matter. It may not mean anything to you, but it definitely does have meaning to many people not like you.
Uh-oh, somebodyâs gonna be throwing a twitter tantrum pretty soonâŚ
To whit: Dear Florida⌠Donât Cracker up.
what?
DeSantis adheres to the Repub view that calling attention to racism is racist
I think the question we need to ask ourselves: Did we actually get to the Macaca Moment the day after the primary victory?
âDeSantis wants you to know he definitely wasnât being racist in an interview Wednesday when he urged Floridians not to âmonkey this upâ by voting for the first African-American gubernatorial nominee in the stateâs history.â
âAnyone who would misconstrue this as racist is out of their cotton-picking mind,â DeSantis said. âI was merely pointing out how shiftless fiscal policies would have the thuggish effect of ghettoizing Floridaâs economy.â
âSome of my best friendsâŚâ
I think the Trumpers are going to find out that itâs actually harder to run a racist campaign against a minority candidate. For one, they donât care about calling you out on your b.s. In addition, GOP canât subtly accuse Gillum of being some kind of ârace traitorâ, a jab frequently lobbed at white Dem candidates.
FL voted for Obama twice. Donât tell me there arenât enough voters out there to deliver Gillum the win against Trumper DeSantis. Also, Gillum is already pivoting to popular issues like health care, education, climate change. Heâs going to be able to address it in a statesmanlike manner and earn a lot of support. Heâs very intelligent, engaging, charismatic, you knowâŚall the things DeSantis is not. I would not be surprised to see the business community line up behind Gillum.
And remember that classic version of Solidarity Forever by that chorus of gibbons.
âApprenticeâ reruns - of course!
At what point does the racist dog whistle motavate more of your openent? Sounds more like they stepped in it.
M. Paul
I can tell you that Democrats are fired up about this. They didnât miss this. DeSantis ensured a max African American turnout. I wouldnât be surprised if Rick Scott throws DeSantis under the bus here and forces him to apologize. Scott knows what a sky high black turnout means in his Senate race.
Thanks for the response. I know that it may not matter. My point was that some of us non-dogs hear these dog whistles all too well, know exactly the message that is being conveyed, are not fooled by them, and are a bit more likely to take some action to negate the message.
