Discussion: Dept. Of Energy Boosts Perry: 'Winning' Fight Against Climate Scientists

Rick Perry is stupid and the dept of energy is rudderless.

There is practically no one overseeing nuclear weapons, nuclear material, hazardous nuclear cleanups or the threats of stolen nuclear material from around the world. These jobs are part of the Department of Energy’s mission, but its hundreds of thousands of staffers are without direction.

Indeed, if you are seeking to preserve a certain worldview, it actually helps to gut science.

“No, most likely the primary control knob is the ocean waters and this environment that we live in.”

So the changes in the climate we live in are not caused by CO2… they’re caused by the climate we live in.

That’s like saying that the cause of the massive bleeding from your leg is not the tiger that’s chewing on it; it’s the wounds on your leg that are causing the bleeding.

Democrat Obama appointments for Energy Secretary -
Steven Chu Nobel Prize winning atomic/ laser physicist
Followed by Ernest Moniz MIT chair and Director of Bates Linear Accelerator Facility and who sat across the table negotiating the details of nuclear capabilities with Iran to…
Republican Trump who appointed a former governor of Texas whose primary function as governor was to kiss babies and sign execution orders. His lifelong career achievement was an appearance on Dancing with the Stars.

Tell me again how there are no differences between the Democrats and Republicans

“Energy Secretary Rick Perry reminds scientists that a little skepticism is ‘quite all right.’”

Whether being skeptical about science is right or wrong depends on one’s reasons.

Good reasons: You can show that the science is inconsistent with verified observations or with accepted scientific laws — or you have an interpretation which is simpler or more comprehensive. This kind of skepticism, which is what science is all about, has led to current climate science, which concludes that most of the climate change we observe is caused by burning fossil fuels.

Bad reasons: The science is inconsistent with your religious beliefs or necessitates action that you would find inconvenient, unpleasant or expensive. This kind of skepticism is expressed by nonscientists — or by scientists whose skepticism has been bought.

Which reasons do you suppose are Perry’s?

As I suspected, the Cornwall Alliance group that McKittrick is affiliated with is a Creationist front for science rejection:

"The Cornwall Alliance for the Stewardship of Creation is a conservative Christian public policy group that promotes a free-market approach to care for the environment that is critical of much of the current environmental movement. In particular, the Cornwall Alliance rejects claims of detrimental global warming. Originally called the “Interfaith Stewardship Alliance” it was founded in 2005 in reaction to the efforts of evangelical leaders (such as Rick Warren) to fight global warming. The name Cornwall come from the 2000 Cornwall Declaration. The organization’s views on the environment have been strongly influenced by the wise use movement of the 1980s and 1990s.

Cornwall Declaration
In 2000, a statement called the Cornwall Declaration on Environmental Stewardship was put forward and has been signed by over 1500 clergy, theologians and others according to Cornwall Alliance. Signatories include prominent religious individuals from the Roman Catholic, Jewish and Evangelical worlds such as Charles Colson, James Dobson, Rabbi Jacob Neusner, R. C. Sproul, Richard John Neuhaus, and D. James Kennedy.

The declaration states that human beings should be regarded as “producers and stewards” rather than “consumers and polluters”. It states:

The Cornwall Declaration further sets forth an articulate and Biblically-grounded set of beliefs and aspirations in which God can be glorified through a world in which “human beings care wisely and humbly for all creatures” and “widespread economic freedom…makes sound ecological stewardship available to ever greater numbers.”

The declaration expresses concern over the “unfounded or undue concerns” of environmentalists such as “fears of destructive manmade global warming, overpopulation, and rampant species loss.”

In the fight between @SecretaryPerry and climate scientists — He’s winning

He might win the political fight, but nature doesn’t care. It just is. If the climate scientists are right, and there is no reason to doubt their conclusion, we ought to be acting now. If they are wrong, the recommended actions are still needed to preserve finite resources for future generations. Either way if Perry wins we all lose.

The Earth and the Universe in general don’t give a rat’s ass about life on Earth.
Neither do the Republicans. Jesus will save us all when the rapture comes.
