The rest of the intelligence community has been (mostly) quiet for a long time to give Mueller room to do his job. If the report is not forthcoming that will likely stop.

It would be nice if Barr, in giving the full report to Congress, attaches a note that says: “Here … impeach the motherfucker.”

I’m not holding my breath.

He might decide not to release some parts because of continuing ongoing investigations that Mueller handed off to SDNY, D.C., etc. But, I really hope that’s the only reason.

Not really a serious question - more like a happy thought - It is at all possible that, since Mueller and Barr are friends, that they lined this up…Mueller: “hey Barr, if Sessions looks like he is about to be canned, you offer up a written opinion that this is all a witch hunt and see if Trump takes the bait. If he does and you get nominated/confirmed, I release my findings and you come down on him like a piano and squash this bug!”

I am feeling a little like I did when I went to bed the night of the election in 2016. I was still optimistic, but something just seemed off. I am sure that many here shared my horror when I woke up to find out what had actually happened. I hope we don’t get a similar outcome in this instance.

This will be Barr’s defining moment.

His best move: release a lightly redacted version of the report, with the identity of any unindicted subjects protected by referring to them by nameless references, such as….Individual 1.

“…including, I hope, from the Senate Judiciary Committee”. “I hope”: It is a fools game to “hope” regarding what the Senate Republicans will do.

The Republicans could not give a shit about the optics of an actual coverup, and Blumenthal should understand that.

If Mueller will not indict Chump, then the only recourse is impeachment, correct? As far as anything the Federal govt is going to do with him while if office.
So, is it not much better that Mueller wraps up now, rather than 4 months from now…so the Impeachment Ball can get rolling and have time to develop the hearings and committee findings - that we hope will be one long slow rolling boil of sin and scandal by 2020 election time?

Is the US an actual Democracy or has it morphed into becoming a closed society ruled by an elite segment of the population?

The mere fact that the US people are paying for their government and yet that very government does not have a formal and transparent process for investigating a President speaks volumes about how the US Democracy is NOT in fact a Democracy at all.

Changes must be made to the US Government rules and the Constitution if our government is to remain at all credible. The fact that William Barr alone could squelch Mueller’s report and prevent the people from seeing it is unbelievable…feels like Putin’s Russia! Not at all free and not all transparent.
