Discussion: Dems Call For Pruitt Vote Delay After Court Orders Emails To Be Released

If they jam his confirmation through it will be worse for them when he has to resign after having stonewalled releasing thousands of emails from his taxpayer paid job. If they jam his confirmation through they will have misread the electorate once again, shown their lack of integrity once again. I do not think it will go well for them if they steamroll this.

And let us all salute JOHN Fucking MCCAIN for taking a powder on this vote instead of demanding a delay. What a fucking HERO!!! The Maverick rides again!!!

Well, won’t the coal-waste polluted waters affect those who voted for this nightmare? Too bad they won’t have health care to treat their poisoned bodies. We might have a Darwinian survival of the fittest (smartest) here.

Not even if his tongue was notarized

Someone suggested building the wall on the border is part of Trump’s plan to the coal miners back to work digging under it for the smugglers and Cartels.

Yep, that’s been a thing for a long time here in KY. But he’s gotten away it with for 50 some odd years now.

Quit whining losers! The rules say, if you win the election, you get to destroy the world. Suck it!

More proof (there’s a mountain of it by now) that the GOP puts party before the people of this country. Any sensible person possessing even a shred of intellectual honesty would at least want to review these obviously relevant emails before voting. Of course, the GOP is neither sensible nor honest, so this is no surprise.

Remember the good old days when some conservatives such as Senator James Buckley considered the environment worth saving? It’s been awhile, hasn’t it?

I don’t know. Popcorn melts under tears. This ass hat will be confirmed and nobody who gives a Rats ass will be able to do anything about it. I mean the conflict of interest (the interest of having a functioning EPA) has been evident since before the inauguration. Now the big orang fool will get to have his cake and eat it too. But hey, a shit country might as well have shit water and air. At least we can say “you built this.”

“Disqualifying” to anyone with any sense, that is.

Well…sort of. The truth is a little more complicated: in the case of this rule, much of the long long effort to enact it was made by coal-mining residents of Wartville, WV. Some of them wanted this rule and voted for Trump, but many did not.

I disagree that this is entirely fruitless - to be sure, McConnell will try to push it through before we can get the information out into the public, but if Senate Dems can delay it long enough to reveal what’s in those emails, then I think Pruitt could be Puzder’ed.

Even if it is fruitless in terms of the outcome of this battle, the way to win the war is to be as obstructionist as possible, to slow them down and make it clear that Dems are not GOP-Lite.

Oh go ahead and ram him through and THEN the emails go viral and every decision he makes is tainted or, worse yet for Trump, he is forced to leave the post.

Bad enough that he might be blocked (although I doubt it because only Collins so far has said she will vote nay and Murkowski has too many oil, gas and mining interests in her state to dare follow on) and no other member of the GOP has the courage to step in…in fact most think he would be super for the post.

Let’s let Mitch have his way and then sit back and watch the fireworks explosion as things unfold. I would be highly surprised, given Pruitt’s track record in OK and that state’s incestuous relationship with the oil, gas and chemical industries, that those emails don’t contain some highly fascinating reading.

It’s going to be a long four years, much of it suffered as the minority in both houses of Congress, devoid of sympathy from the White House and often the loser in battles with a Judiciary soon to be stocked with an abundance of Trump appointed judges. While your gut may say never give an inch it is probably prudent to keep some powder dry for looming fights more consequential.

We are well on our way to “Third-World-Dictatorship” country, to the glee of the .01% and their Corporate Masters.

The only thing left is for the Orange Shit-Gibbon to unveil his “glorious Uniform” a-la Idi Amin.

The Republican approach seems to be confirm first and then vet after, then if something bad surfaces, they can be asked to resign. Worked well enough with Flynn.

What do Republicans have against clean water and breathable air?

The Party of Smog and Lead Poisoning.

Hopefully, one of the Democrats will point out the complete hypocrisy of Mitch McConnell. He is blabbering about Democrats’ delay tactics, when he set the bar by totally denying Judge Garland a hearing. He should be publicly reminded this is what he cultivated. McConnell is the premier goose- stepper in the Senate, with Rand Paul running a close second.

Republicans have nothing to gain and everything to lose by allowing the delay, so they won’t. Besides, everybody deserves flammable tap water.

Trump math: 6000 x 7000 = 42,000
