The point is to keep the pressure on the GOP to take an honorable stand on this, which they definitely won’t.
Then as the Drumpf administration inevitably collapses in scandal, the Dem’s can lay it ALL at the doorstep of the GOP.

This is a good step, even if the odds are low. Keep it up front and center, and don’t let up. The more the Republicans stonewall, the more foolish they look and the more untenable their position becomes.
One or two are saying Flynn was politically assassinated by the IC. They are complaining about leaks and how these should be investigated. This isn’t about Flynn. It’s about the whole mess of the election, Russia’s involvement, and Trump’s collusion. The more the Dems keep pressing on this, the worse it becomes for the Republicans both now and in 2018.
I keep looking at this with incredulity, renewed almost every day. Although the Republicans control the House, Senate and Presidency, they are so dysfunctional it is really a joke. They need to start cleaning up their mess, and fast.

He’s gone after the media, the IC and the judiciary. And it will be the media, the IC and the judiciary that will destroy him. And I do mean “destroy”.

this struck me as odd, as well. My best guess? The others want to keep Trump around until 2018 mid-terms because it benefits the Dem party? Maybe the fear is President Pence stabilizes the circus and the point scoring comes few and farther between?
I know I may be reaching here, but I’ll give the democrats the benefit of the doubt…very little room for tolerance of this weakness, though. Even if it isn’t weak, it shows up as weak.
Nothing is more emblematic of the decline of the GOP than the fact that Graham and McCain (and I’m talking post-Palin McCain, not the McCain of the 90’s) are the only voices of reason remaining.
Now it remains to be seen if they will buck their leadership and show some independence to actually get an investigation started.

It’s a pretty sad state of affairs when only Democrats are interested in getting to the bottom of this. You really have to wonder - is there anything this administration could possibly do that Republicans would regard as unacceptable?

They compare Russian corruption to a virus that must be stopped.
All it took for them to work together is a a near collapse of the US Government…

heading north at 10 knots. The ship cruised up the eastern coast of the
United States. As of Wednesday morning, that ship is now off the coast
of Connecticut and one congresswoman wants the president to stop
tweeting and start taking care of national security.
“A Russian spy ship patrolling 30 miles from the Groton SUBASE
underscores that the threats posed by a resurgent Russia are real,” said
Rep. Joe Courtney (D-CT), according to WTNH.
“This unacceptable, aggressive action, combined with the buzzing of US
Navy ships in the Red Sea yesterday are clearly testing the resolve of a
new administration. While I have total confidence in our Navy’s
vigilant, responsible readiness, the White House needs to move past
their seeming infatuation with Putin and treat him like the serious
threat to global peace and security that he has been for the last five
years.”

Sure, Trump could decide that defunding the ACA is off the table. Or announce his commitment to ensuring that abortion and reproductive rights will be protected and not subject to the whims of religious zealots. Or assuring the public that he is committed to increasing funding for the BLM, Forest Service, and the National Parks, and that he regards any attempt to subvert the rule of law in federal lands out west as an attack on the United States itself.
