My theory is that Nunes didn’t actually do anything wrong, commit any crimes before or during the campaign. He’s just stupid! He’s doing all this running around caping for PP because he’s too stupid to understand what a monumentally bad idea it is. Yes, he’s raised his profile. People know who he is now, and they know now that he’s a despicable creature who, outside of his district, will never be elected to higher office. His behavior is that of someone who is very guilty, but my gut tells me he’s just stupid. Stupid enough that he involved himself on the back end of a vast criminal conspiracy out of some pathetic sense of loyalty to a man who wouldn’t piss on him with a full bladder if he were on fire. He’ll be the guy sitting on the toilet in prison trying to figure out how the hell it all went so wrong.

Really. Securing 6 years of CHIP plus punting DACA to McConnell for a vote makes sense.
DACA polls at well over 80% and the Dreamers can browbeat him and his house colleagues. His wife is a immigrant after all.
This is the best deal Particularly when you have 10 red states or states that Trump eaked out a win with Democratic Senators who are up in November.

I googled “how many Russians in CA District 22?” and the first result was David Nunes…
Considering that this district is majority minority (44% Hispanic, 7.3% Asian, 2% African-American) and Kamala Harris got more votes than Trump did in 2016, it looks ripe for flipping.
